Precursor here, fellas: I'm a Mexican guy from Texas needless to say, I don't know much about hockey other than what I've seen on tv and from playing the NHL series off and on for a decade. I like to play defense, but seriously, still learning even the nuances of the sport itself.

Would really like to learn this game from some dedicated peeps so I can get better acclimated. I love the speed, skill, brutality and team work. And since this is a beta, I know W/L stats won't matter as much if you guys take a flyer on helping me out.

El Greazy, I tried to add you earlier but it said you were no longer a free agent. You can only be a member of one club at a time so you need to leave whatever club your in via the settings in the club menus. Once you do that, send a new invite and we can add you to the team and I'll add you to my friends list. I should be back around 4 or 5 pm EST to add you or another GM can add you if they see it. A few guys are on around 9 pm EST as well.

It doesnt matter if you are new or not, we are basically having fun with the beta and it isn't as competitive as an actual league club would be. I'll admit though, its more fun when I'm playing with guys that actually play their positions and try to open the game up instead of everyone divebombing the puck, but either way its a good time. If you are D, just be aware of where you are. It's ok to crash the net from time to time but a good D guy hangs around the blue line so that they can take back passes from the forwards to help open up the ice a bit. Thats when you get to fire your slap shots! Hockey is a great game and it's good to see new people getting into it.

So far in this beta I've met quite a few good people to play with and it's been great fun. Looking forward to getting the actual game in September
