To get team differentiation, play season mode?

The ratings are still abysmally similar. I think every team is rated between 91 and 87. C'mon.

I think Ill play the single season mode. You can do 30 team control and set each team's strategies. Hopefully this adds some feeling of teams being different.

I'm pretty sure the lowest team category rating is Buffalo Sabres' goalie rating, at 85. That's still pretty good on the overall scale.

I shouldnt have brought up OVRs. It's different styles Id like to see and it seems Single season mode is the way to do this, not GM mode.

The ratings are weird. By that I mean I see the OVR with my eyeballs but it isn't playing like that.

The Devils are clearly worse than the Jets, even though the OVR is similar.

Same goes for other teams with close OVR but not playing at all.

Makes me wonder if EA skirted the NHLPA by placating them with the OVR numbers but actually making the players play higher or lower than the listed OVR.

Playing with or against an elite goaltender is very noticeable.


After my initial few games it became pretty obvious that Mike Smith was no Carey Price. The difference was far more pronounced than the real life GAA of the two.
