Re: Let's Test NHL 16

Wanted to highlight a very nice play from the CPU that I've never seen before:

Watch live video from AdamJones113 on Twitch

The Canucks player realizes that he can win the race to the puck, so, rather than changing and allowing the Capitals (me) to break out, he stops, keeps the puck in, and then heads for a well deserved drink.

This is great AI, love to see more of this stuff.

What do you guys think about the skating engine? Is there enough control there, and does it accurately represent real life NHL skating?

Re: Let's Test NHL 16

I've got back into this since the deadline has passed.

But it has lead me right back into the tweaking. I have been using my own sliders, started hardcore, then adjusted etc. With hits still being over done with all checking sliders at 0 (only Left Stick hitting) it made me mess with the settings/sliders again.

This time i went offline, played a game with my gm sliders above, played the same. I then adjusted everything back to default, but game on "arcade" settings and then adjusted everything back to how i had it. Wouldn't ya know it? The hitting was basically non existent. I mean, each team ended up with between 18-30 hits, but the over done flopping around with the Left Stick hitting i have been seeing basically went away. Guys on same hits were just stumbling down to a knee and knocked down but not sliding 10-15 feet.

Makes ya just wonder, if arcade and hardcore are backwards.

Can someone else test this out? Go and change game to arcade, then adjust sliders to what you have been using. See if I'm not just crazy LOL.

Huh. I'll try to test this out later. Interesting.

Re: Let's Test NHL 16

For the record I adjusted from simulation as well and that's a no go. There was that turn on a dot looseness to it regardless of the sliders. Hitting while toned down from hardcore still had those hits where guys were sliding all over. So freaking odd.

Re: Let's Test NHL 16

Honestly, after the last few days I just went back to default all star hardcore. I can't take the domino effect when changing sliders anymore. Sticking with this for a while and see how it goes. Some things frustrate me on default, but may just have to live with it compared to everything else that drives me up a wall. LOL
