Why this series is dying

I've always given this series the benefit of the doubt.. I have spent a great deal of my free time dedicated to this series. That being said.. the goalies have to be redone from the ground up! I just had a goal scored on me where it was a clear from the other teams goal area and the puck rolled slow to my goalie, who goes into a typical butterfly and lifts up his pads and the puck rolls right underneath it for a goal that cost me the game, 2-1.

I can deal with a lot of the short comings with this series, but I cannot deal with stupid goalie animations like this that turn into goals or the ones that go right through the goalie's pads!!!

The goalies have been the same for many, many years and it's time to rework the whole goalie system!

I deleted another BeaGM because I'm too frustrated to deal with it. If there is a slider that ties in with animations or goalie stuff, then let us know!! I had aggression up max, did that cause this behavior? I also had goalie reaction to FULL, so there is no way stuff like this should happen!

Start listening to those of us who are OFFLINE BeaGM players!!! We deserve some attention!

Why do you say the game is dying? Do you have sales/financial numbers that show that EA's NHL franchise is dying?

NHL 16 is a much better game than NHL 15, but that's mostly because NHL 15 was just the bare bones of a game.

NHL 08-11 were all pretty well received.

NHL 12-14 I think were just average improvements, not that impressive unless you just wanted the newest game.

NHL 15 was a huge step back and IMO NHL 16 is an improvement,

Abso-freakin'-lutely. Goalie animations, and AI goalies as a whole, need to be addressed on a major scale.

With sliders I really like the game. I think there are a lot of really well-executed and subtle gameplay mechanics that make the game a relatively deep experience as far as sports games go.

It's a shame EA Canada allowed 15 to happen like it did. I think that really set the series back more than anything.

They make all these eye popping saves, but can't save a slow rolling puck. The stupid pads lifting off the ice at just the right time for a goal is my favorite.. NOT.

I agree, a lot of the animations have been real subtle and a major improvement. I love how the animation you generate while shooting is so sensitive to how you are controlling your player and the difference it makes in being able to score.

NHL 15 was a disaster, but NHL 16 is a pretty solid improvement. Probably the best product in the series in the last 3-4 years so they seemed to have improved their approach to the game.

Many of us feel your pain. I will say aggression maxed shouldn't have an effect but I did try goalie speed maxed and saw really horrible animations and weird goals going in. I use 5 because in EAs 6 click slider system the difference between 5 and 6 is huge but the goalies play better for some reason.

I think I'll go ALL defaults from here on out. They have issues with their "slider" system.
