NHL 16 - 5 months in - How is it in its current form?

Have not been following it much this year, but how is it right now with any patches and latest tuners. Regret buying it? Having a blast? Mediocre? Give me your quick thoughts (or longer if you want)

It's certainly not without a couple of issues, but I'm loving this game. It's been a long time since I could play a hockey game for hours like I have been with this game. Once you find your sliders, this game is pretty addicting.

I think you'd be best served renting the game/borrowing it from a friend.

This game is more polarizing than previous games have been—seems like you either love it or hate it. I've had a lot of fun with it, but I also think there are far too many flaws.

Definitely has its issues (major penalty glitch, a little won't AI when CPU has the puck behind its own net, etc) but they are onto something really special. I also think there is more player separation than is given credit.

As I've recently posted in the tuner thread.. for me, it's the best NHL game EA has put out. Yes there are a few issues.. mainly for me no goal totals besides going into the box score (not shown in game), some puck/goalie pad issues, stick collisions in some places need improved and some other small nitpicks.. but I love the game.

I'm 60+ games into my BeaGM and the morale system adds some depth, the areas are great, game play is fun and doesn't feel superhuman with slider settings.

I can echo some of the others. Still has flaws but certainly heading in a good direction. Despite not being perfect I'm enjoying doing a full season for the first time in years. AI can still use work mainly in the neutral zone. I would still like to see better player seperation or at least players play more like the type of player they are. Some inexcusable stat issues. Overall though it's playable and enjoyable.

The game is excellent, love it this year.
The game allows you to play it anyway you want it too. Want it Arcady? No problem, want it sim? You can do that too.
6v6? Yes indeed!
Does it have flaws? Yep, but show me a video game that doesn't have any flaws. You can't. Can't they are video games.
Enjoy the game. It's worthy.

Bought it while it was 60% off during Christmas time and couldn't be happier...

I play a ''Be a PRO'' career on Superstar difficulty on defence and this game is a blast to play. Like someone said earlier, it is my opinion that this is the BEST NHL yet :-)

Now that I know how it plays, I would of bought it full price no regrets....

I played an EASHL game last night after not putting the NHL 16 disc in my system for over a month and that match immediately reminded me why I stopped playing:

We set up tons of screens and deflections all game long, dominating time on attack 10 minutes to 4 minutes and posting 30 shots to our opponent's 12 shots. Our team's shot total would have been even higher if it wasn't so easy (and unrealistically painless) to block one-timers and slap shots from the point in this game. But trying to score with realistic hockey tactics produced only 1 goal.

Our opponents, meanwhile, were able to score one goal off a short-side, top-shelf wrist shot while skating in from the side of net with no shooting angle, plus another goal off a cross-crease one-timer pass that traveled through three defenders' limbs and sticks.

Oh well, back to playing Forza 6 and NBA 2K16.

Maybe try VG or LG then.
That is where you will find the 6v6 games. Clubs are dead.

What ? I've played about 30 games of ''be a pro'' and I've never seen this happen once.... What are you talking about ???

If I would have listen to guys like this, I woukd have never bought the game and woukd have missed out on a great game....
