Interesting if this could be implemented in the video game and if you could see a difference in how the goalie looks and actual gameplay...E.I more goals...

Re: Goalie equipment changes

I wouldn't honestly expect much in terms of increase in goals, probably a few early in the season but goalies will adjust.

And defences.

If this helps score 1 more goal a game, then expect coaches to coach even more conservatively and force everyone to stand in the crease blocking shots.

But I did like what I heard from that conversation. I'm not going to hold my breath, but if the goalies are the one's pushing this, then I think we may actually see some change.
I have a feeling if Cory Schneider notices something off with the counterpart he's facing, he's going to say something. And that goes for other goalies too.
The only netminder I've heard say anything against the changes is Ryan Miller. He's 170lbs with a snowsuit on. No wonder he wants to continue using PEE's (Performance Enhancing Equipment).
He'll look like a small child if he has to wear shrink-wrapped equipment.

I may have to tune into the WC now if these changes are made for that tournament.
