The Catch-up logic in this game is as bad as it has ever been.

I definitely think EA needs to adjust the AI's "thinking" with strategy adjustments. If you put HUM strategy above 3, and you take the lead by 1 goal, the "AI Coach" goes into a laid back defense mode. They do a lot of protect the net and not aggressive on offense. I've never seen a team in the NHL go passive after leading by only 1 goal. I like having the HUM strat at 3 or more because I want to just play the game, but the AI "thinking" is horrible.

I also think we need a balanced difficulty. Let's play the game according to the player ratings, not a tuner or slider set, but player ratings. If you have a team that is 50 OVR and they beat your team of OVR 80, then yes I would say catch up logic exists.

But I do believe a lot of this feeling is coming from the sliders not being balanced and difficulty mode favoring either HUM or CPU. We need balance.

Like it has been mentioned before, you have to adjust your strats and or have the CPU do it for you. Even with either of the above you have to play smart as mentioned as well. You can't play d in the zone and click on everyone that is close to the puck. Play your position and take away the slot from the CPU, force them into something else. Get the puck, chip it out etc.

I'm 17-6-1 in my Pens franchise. I play with my sliders, home games on all-star, and road games on superstar.

Yep. The catch up logic or ice tilt is not something in the game but happens as a result of sliders and strategies. I've no doubt people are seeing it and I've seen it in the past but I found my sweet spot and have not had to deal with super invincible CPU or last minute unrealistic comebacks.
My last 2 games in my Ranger season:

NYR 5 Carolina 0 (chased Ward early second period)
Buff 3 NYR 1 (had 5 PP with some great shots robbed by Lehner)

I'm still in disbelief that I'm this far into my season and it has not imploded lol.

I downloaded patch but will not download tuner since I'm not having any issues to complain about. If it ain't broke don't fix it
