No continuous overtime in playoffs during season mode

I have a digital copy of nhl 17 for the ps4 and in my offline season the playoffs overtime is one five minute period with 4 on 4 and a shootout instead of the 20 minute continuous overtime like in real life. I was hoping there was a way to fix this.

Go into "global settings" BEFORE going into your season and change it there and then save your settings, then when you log into your season mode, it should work after you load your settings.

I've tried that and I don't think it works. I could be doing something wrong. Should I make new settings and load it there and see what happens?

I load my preset in the global settings, change the OT settings, then save. Then go into my franchise and load my preset before playing a game and it works. I do that in the playoffs, then back to shootout when the next season starts.
