I should have listened and not wasted $40. Wow people were right about the frustration in the gameplay. I can't really go into much detail but I'm a coach mode player and it's very frustrating to watch the AI just standing around at times and not go after the puck. I noticed it a few times last night in just the first few games.

Ah well, live and learn. We'll see how NHL 18 is.

You'll buy 18 and say the exact same thing except you'll have a new roster

Why would anyone pay $40 at this point in a sports games life cycle? The new one is what, 3 months away? Hell, no one shouldn even still be charging $40 anyways.

Oh wow NHL 17 is bad? I thought it's like the third PS4 NHL game and they'd have the kinks worked out.

I assumed that it was just NHL 13-16/legacy on the PS3 that were supposed to be bad and that next-gen was fine.

Will be the same **** as usual, ignore how well beta turns out even if it's really good because that's been done repeatedly.

It won't change. It's been like this for years now.

I found that the only way I could get any fun out of this game was by playing position lock.
When my CPU teammates have the puck, my opponent would let them walk right in.
If I was passed the puck, it was like skating through a gauntlet of angry muggers and lumberjacks.

The game is programmed that way for a reason. The AI is so brutal, that if your CPU teammates attacked the puck like they do, your CPU opponent would never score a goal.
So they make your teammates docile and give the CPU boosts so that every player they control is a combo of Lucic and Crosby.

I'm completely done with this series. They can add all the bells and whistles they like, but the gameplay and AI is absolute garbage.
