NHL 18 Players with Real Faces

Jeez, looking at Madden's list of added player faces in an update, it looks longer than the list EA's been building for the past 5 years in the NHL series. That's a bummer.

Yep, this game is so far behind everything else it's really disappointing. We're only 11 days into October and these forums are dead. Used to be 10-20 new topics daily back in the day. It's been trending this way for too long now. Sheet needs to change.

I couldn’t help but notice exactly this too. I made the list again this year and while doing it I thought, what a waste of my time. Early on I was impressed with the names I was adding but prior to season’s start I realized the flaws.

- Anaheim’s younger group (Lindholm, Rakell, Silfverberg, Vatanen)
- Calgary’s key pieces (Hamilton, Hamonic, Tkachuk)
- Carolina’s up and coming talent (Aho, Faulk, Lindholm, Rask, Slavin)
- Nashville’s scorers (Arvidsson, Fiala, Forsberg)
- Pittsburgh’s playoff performers (Guentzel, Hornqvist, Rust, Sheary)

We can make a case for almost every team. Truth is, it’s not a priority of theirs. EA’s NHL team justified this last year saying that because of players wearing helmets, their likeness isn’t a priority since it’s hard to spot. Funny thing is, football players wear helmets with cages attached to them. That Madden likeness update was something else.

Yeah, the "you can't even see their faces" excuse got thrown out when they thought mouthguards hanging out was important enough to include.

Well put! I can name only one player I know who hangs his mouth guard out of his mouth, and we once had to remove him from the box art.
