Nice format to update your progress. I think I will do something similar. But probably more of a every ten games team update, with the last update to end the regular season.

Yeah, I didn稚 want to do Game by Game. I figured this would be easier.

Your team is loaded and looks prime for another deep playoff run. How did you a top 5 pick after making it to conference finals??

How many games are you playing versus simming?

Thanks Irish, yeh it's maybe possible that next season the green will work its way into the normal home and away jerseys. The alternate may even become the new home, we'll see I guess.

As for the top 5 pick I had - I mentioned in my 2018/19 review, but then forgot to mention it in my preview post, during the 2018 Draft, Boston offered their 2019 1st round pick for Chris de Haan, a 82 Med Top4 Dman. I took it thinking I would get a bottom-end to mid-range first round pick at best, somehow they managed to finish tied dead last with Vegas!
Watching them fail all through the season was like waiting for a golden egg to hatch haha.
Though as luck would have it, they came in with pick #4, which wouldn't have got me the player I wanted so then I had to do some creative trading which I think paid off in the end.

As for games played vs simming - Regular Season I play every 5th which is 16 games total (probably +3 to 4 extra here and there), then sim the rest, personally I think that's a good mix to allow reasonably accurate stats to occur.
Playoffs I want to give the CPU as much of a chance possible, so I made the rule that I can only play games 3,5&7 - this means the CPU has 4 games without my influence and could possibly bump me off before I get the chance to play game 7. (Just so happened the the CPU had a surprise for me, beating me in game 7 haha)

Re: How's your franchise mode going? NHL 18

I really like my 32nd team expansion, but I think I'm going to start up with Vegas, as I'm from Vegas and it's super exciting having a team there. Probably start at the beginning of the season so I have the most accurate current roster.

2017/18 Vegas Golden Knights Opening Night Report

Not sure in the video game this team will be as successful as the real team right away. I'm going to stick with the guys that Vegas has been keeping on their roster this season for the most part. After a bit I might mess with lines seeing how things go. I plan on playing one game every couple weeks. I'll post updates after played games. I also only accept offered trades unless I want to trade up on draft night.

Opening Night Lines

David Perron 82(29) - Erik Haula 80(26) - James Neal 84(30)
Reilly Smith 81(26) - William Karlsson 83(24) - Jonathan Marchessault 83(26)
Brenden Leipsic 73(23) - Cody Eakin 80(26) - Alex Tuch 79(21)
Tomas Nosek 70(25) - Pierre-Edward Bellemare 78(32) - Oscar Lindberg 78(25)

Nate Schmidt 80(26) - Deryk Engelland 78(35)
Brayden McNabb 80(26) - Colin Miller 77(24)
Shea Theodore 77(22) - Luca Sbisa 80(27)

Marc-Andre Fleury 86(32)
Malcolm Subban 80(23)

Scratched: LW William Carrier 74(22) - D Brad Hunt 74(29) - D Jon Merrill 81(25)

Key Contract Situations This Season

Pending UFAs I'll be looking to keep:

D. Perron, J. Marchessault, D. Engelland, B. Pirri

UFAs I'll keep if competitive:

J. Neal, L. Sbisa

UFAs I plan on trading or letting go at the end of the season:

J. Garrison, M. Grabovski, D. Roy, C. Stoner, P. Thompson, D. Casto

RFAs I want to get locked up long term:
W. Karlsson, C. Miller, S. Theodore, W. Carrier
