No roster share ensures you buy the game next year. Since there’s very little changes from year to year if there was roster sharing you could get away with only buying the game every 5 Year’s. Hockey needs another video game to give EA a kick in the ***. NHL2K was better in all aspects other than graphics. But if you look at NBA2K their graphics are incredible. So it’s possible. But there’s just not enough sales in a hockey game worldwide. It’s too bad. EA can do whatever they want with this game. It’s our only option.

While I agree with this it's dumb for EA to think like that. I honestly feel like Madden hasn't changed dramatically year to year but they have Roster share. MLB the Show is still the core game it's been but has a roster vault. I can say personally I would by the game each year and more so with a roster share. EA shoukd worry more about people staying away because they don't address long standing gameplay issues more than worrying that a roster share might hurt sales. If your right it proves that not only is EA out of touch with the NHL and it's fans but also have no idea what would benefit their game and how to make a marketable product.

NHL definitely doesn't follow the convention of other sports games with weekly roster updates. I'm personally ok with that since I like to start Franchises without pre-existing injuries.

However, one reason I think it takes longer, besides the rookie rule, is all the different leagues and legal parameters of player likeness. I think they need to have a lot of individual waivers checked, and it's a hard process to expedite.

Damn it takes long. Been a week since opening night, dont they have any work done ready so they can just release it on the opening night? DOnt think it took this long with the previous installments?

I don't understand why they put such little priorities on these little details that hurts the games reputation. Why not get one of the game chargers to do it for them. I'm sure it would cost next to nothing to have these done. Paying them in virtual currency lol. Or give them a free copy of the game. It's not a full time job to fix the rosters on a weekly basis. Most of us would do it for free if they had roster share.

New online roster is out labeled oct 12th. I'm a Rangers fan and just looked at them, looks pretty much accurate, they even added Cracknell who the Rangers recently signed and his first game played was Tuesday night.
