How do I chose which rosters I wanna use when starting season mode?

It doesn't give me an option to chose which roster I wanna use when starting a season mode.

Is there any way?

Wow this is amazing, I guess there is no point waiting for opening day rosters because this game forces you to use the default rosters in season and franchise mode.

Go into the roster settings from the main screen and whichever roster you set as the "active roster" will be the one you use in play now and franchise mode.

That's what I'm doing, it works in play now but when starting a season or franchise it loads the default. Go double check your franchise and you will see it's not the newest update.

I think what might be going on is when starting a season with the newest rosters the game automatically sets best lines for your team and that is where my confusion was coming from. I think it is actually using the newest rosters just with modified lines.

This game (and 17, and 16, and 15) has a serious saving problem when it comes to rosters. The line combinations are one thing. Another is goalies, you can change all their gear in the main menu, then start a FM, and everything is messed up, so you can start all over. This is such great fun, yay... Even if you change goalie gear in the mode itself, be sure to double check if the game has really saved the changes. Sometimes you have to do it twice, which really is annoying.

What franchise mode are you playing? 31 or 32 team mode forces you to use rosters from June 2017 as the game starts before the draft.

If you select classic mode, as other posters have said, it will use whatever roster you have set as active.

Normal franchise and season mode.

BTW how can I tell if it's using the july rosters? Is there anything significant I can check as far as players to tell?
