I wouldn't give this mind-F of a game to my worst enemy, but you're right, there could have been someone who wanted to try it out.


In my defense, this was 10 or so years of never getting to play a quality hockey. Coming close some years, and then regressing on the follow up. Watching EA put in feature after feature, HUT pack after HUT pack, and letting the legacy AI issues torment the heck out of us.

I think I kinda understand where you're coming from Rosco. I'm probably at the other end of the NHL playing spectrum. New to hockey and new to EA hockey so I wouldn't know good gameplay/features from bad. I'm constantly learning. Have my 17 version of the game set up to play 'easy' on beginner skill levels. I skate around....pass the puck....shoot...score.......I like. For now anyway.

Xbox? Don't you want to play Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, Last of Us, Until Dawn etc???

Btw, the latest updates have improved the game. No doubt in my mind. Less herding in defensive zone coverage, better defensive positioning. Not great, but better.

I'm not sure about your first paragraph. I don't think I would want to play those games, but I have a feeling there's some subtext I'm not getting??


I'm hoping The Show 18 comes through on it's hype this year. That's probably going to be it for me for a while.


Yeah, I played '18 post patch with a friend: there's nothing new there. THE GAME DOES NOT WORK WITHIN IT'S OWN PARAMETERS. Why? Because the time wasn't put in over the years. By now we should be arguing about how D-Men are playing the chip-and-chase, instead of why players aren't picking up a puck that's right in front of them (amongst hundreds of other things).

No subtext, just can't see a reason for anyone to have an xbox to play the 100th Gears and Halo.

Guys this game isn't bad . You need to find the right sliders. Yeah there are problems but it plays so much better with the right sliders.
