Is the roster limit enforced during the post-season "contract week"?

I've got a full roster during this trade deadline (50/50). In the upcoming post-season "contract week", I have four young prospects who need to be given entry-level contracts (they've reached the limit of being "unsigned").

My concern is that if I go into the "contract week" with a full roster, they'll reject the entry level offers because my roster is full (and hence, go to free agency).

Does anyone know if you can violate the roster limit during the "contract week"?

P.S. My intention was to trade away extra guys during the "free agency" months, to get back within the roster limit.

Okay guys, I bit the bullet and did a test sim ahead. I can confirm, in the scenario I described...the roster limit is enforced during the "contract week".

I offered the entry deals to the prospects, and they rejected it saying there was no room on my roster for them.

Horrible. I always assumed I could decide in the off-season "free agency months" who to throw overboard to fit within the roster limit. But given this bull**** feature of the game, I have to make room ahead of time during the trade deadline! It's going to screw with my playoff lineup in a major way!

Yep unfortunately you will either have to risk them going to free Agency or you need to make the room beforehand.

Are there any players in the last year of their contracts that you don't want that you can release? (During the re-sign period)
That is one option I guess.

Alternately, because you are at the trade deadline, are there 4 bottom rated guys in your AHL team that you could move for draft pick prior to the deadline to save killing your Playoffs line up?
