No point taking anything to E3. It costs money to go, it takes time to make a build to show off. They have no competition and no reason to create hype for their game vs another. Plus most likely nothing's changed so they don't really have anything to show.

Well, should they release crap that gets criticized for the same thing every year or should they go into 2 year development? Can't have it both ways.

It’s sad the way this series has gone. I wish Sony or 2k would make a nhl game to get some competition and more sim like.

Is there any chance NHL gets Frostbite this year?

How much money does it cost to go? Just curious since you seem to be "in the know".

Other EA games went under similar scenarios you mentioned above (no competition, little change, etc.)

They could certainly do both. E3 just gives you such a massive audience, and Hockey is one of those games growing up in the 90s that appealed to so many gamers, and not just hockey fans.

As they should. Zero reason not to have a teaser or in some way EA talk about the game.

They dropped the ball big time coming next gen a few years ago and they haven’t picked it up yet since.

                  Re: No NHL at E3?

Have they even been to E3 during this generation of consoles? I think NHL 14 was the last time I remember them being there and that was behind closed doors. I think NHL 12 was the only team I can recall them actually being part of EA's main conference.

Them not even teasing their NHL Awards reveal has me a bit worried. I expected the move to Frostbite, but NBA not even getting Frostbite pretty much confirms for me that NHL isn't getting it.

LOL no they wouldn't. NHL 2k got owned by EA NHL so badly that NHL 2k had to quit. NFL 2k can compare to Madden but sales wise they would of have never over taken Madden. Maybe on 360 generation but way too late now

Well, I'm sure Justin Bieber sell more records than Prince or Ennio Morricone, but is it really because he makes better music?

Music is subjective, what sounds good to you might sound terrible to others and vice versa so your example doesn't really matter. Justin Bieber and Prince are both great, dont know much about Ennio Morricone but I'm from newer generation.

NHL 2K wasn't some great game that had poor sales, the game was consistently average to below average and EA NHL wipe the floor with them.
