FIFA, Madden and NBA was shown at EA press conference but not NHL. Are they that embaressed or indifferent about the NHL series that they wont even show it when they show the other sport titles?

NBA Live was brutal with reviews in 18 and they had a trailer etc. I dunno, that doesn’t look good for NHL IMO. Unless they just waiting for the draft to show everything. I doubt it though.Twitch

Re: No NHL at E3?
Yes it’s a no go for Madden, but still holding out hope for the NHL. I know it’s very unlikely as Madden would probably be first to come to Switch. But with no news on NHL I still have some hope

Re: No NHL at E3?
We all know how this will go on the 20th, they'll show some pre-rendered footage and say it's "real game footage" and then hype some features that were taken out of NHL 15, NHL 16, and then the rest will be HUT. There will be no significant upgrades to graphic engine or, sound, or gameplay. It's kind of sad now how it's just rinse and repeat now.Comment

Re: No NHL at E3?
I wouldn't worry about it.
It wasn't there last year and TBH, EA has little incentive to promote this game considering it has zero competition.
Spragga gets post of the week for basically breaking down exactly what everyone should expect for NHL19.
Saying that, if they finally(!!!) incorporate all the various leagues into Franchise or BAP, I'll likely buy it.
I would love to run a CHL or even KHL franchise.Comment

Re: No NHL at E3?
Yes it was not shown at last year’s E3 either. The difference was that it had already been announced and had its trailer and some features revealed. By the awards they were unveiling a cover athlete these past few years for a game that had already been announced. This year the game has not been announced making it different from previous years. Does that difference have a meaning or is it just a change in strategy from EA? I have no idea but I do know that it is at least different. I would not have particularly high hopes for NHL 19 but I am a hockey die hard and so I hold out hope every year. Even if they can’t/won’t fix the engine and make it more like real hockey, maybe they’ll give us better ratings, roster share, better player likeness or something that I can enjoy.
As much as it’s frustrating to acknowledge the game doesn’t ever improve very much, as a grown adult who works and earns a living, it really doesn’t pain me that much to drop $60 even for a decent hockey experience and EA NHL is at the very least decent. I do get disappointed being let down year after year but over the years I’ve also stopped getting my hopes as high. Now I’ll be content with a few choice improvements in realistic areas even if we do end up with largely same core experience.Comment

Re: No NHL at E3?
I really enjoyed NHL18 and think it's a pretty solid overall game, but my expectations for this franchise and direction are as low as can be.
I don't expect them to inject any emotion into the game (player reactions/celebrations, goal reactions, etc.), or anything in franchise mode, but just hope they don't go too far in appealing to the Youtube/HUT crowd.Comment
