While I was hoping for more Franchise info as well, this was a really nice and exciting presentation on the new scouting system. This is really designed at a level you'd expect for a sports game that carries official league branding. I'd go even farther and say that this feature is much more fleshed out than the scouting system we have in Madden over the past few years including 19.

Hopefully the on the ice changes and other odds and ends help push this NHL, along with this new scouting system, into a turning point for the NHL franchise back to a respectable series.

This looks awesome. Fog of War looks amazing and it should add a ton of realism to the mode. The scouting system looks very nicely done. I like how teams will make draft-day trades similar to the ones we see in real life.

And custom rosters for 32 team expansion mode? Awesome.

Last years 32 team expansion mode you couldnt edit the roster like the classic franchise mode

not a fan of the empty player face templates. at least generate a random face that we can see.* PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE optimize the game menus in NHL 19. NHL 18 game menus were sluggish. Not acceptable in this generation of consoles. One of my pet peeves with the game. This needs to be addressed!

Yeah I don't get why Madden can do it but they don't in the NHL series? I agree about the menus as well.

Why can't they call up the Madden team and ask how to get editable draft classes in game? Kills whatever good this scouting feature is for me. Video showing a Ukrainian Kazak as number one player is cringeworthy.

You can manually “edit” the draft class by going to the rosters on the main screen and changing guys’ overall/potential. I spent a few hours editing players last year and wound up with a pretty accurate rounds 1-3. It’s a bit tedious but after you are done you just save the roster and upload it whenever you start a new franchise.

Yes, but you cannot edit every player. The CPU still generates American players, Russian players, etc.

Also, after a few years, 100% of the draft classes will be CPU generated.

Wish I would have waited a year to get NHL. Got last year's game, but it was not that good. Spent a lot of time making prospects and stuff so won't be getting another Hockey game for a couple of years, so I have time for other sports games. Lots of little improvements this year.

I don't get why they still have the black silhouettes for Prospects. Don't all other sports games have the custom images. EAs Madden does and NCAA football had them 10 years ago. Makes no sense.

Wow, very cool improvements & additions. Glad to see Gurn get the chance to do some major work on franchise.
