Re: How's your franchise going? NHL 19 Edition

The second preseason game is in the books as I beat Vancouver 2-1 in OT. The Canucks took the early lead and led 1-0 after a PPG in the 1st period. I would score with a little over 5 minutes left in the 2nd period when Doughty scored on a wrist shot from just above the right face off circle. The game would end 1-1 with each team failing to score on the PP. Muzzin would score the GWG on a nice cross ice feed from Doughty. Overall a good game with a lot less scoring on my part. Itís good to see such a contrast from one game to another. Definitely enjoying NHL 19 so far and the new tuner (1.01) seems to have fixed the annoying poke check always causing a tripping penalty....

Does anyone post in the dynasty section anymore? I've started one mainly for my own benefit so that I can stay a bit more interested, and can look back at it.

If anyone is interested, I'd appreciate any feedback/suggestions!

Anyone doing any created franchises this year?

Are there any changes for created franchises this year?

Can you start with custom rosters for expansion franchise? I heard some chatter about this, so it would be nice to verify.

Re: How's your franchise going? NHL 19 Edition

I started a Vancouver Canucks franchise (I almost exclusively play franchise/Be A GM, and play only about 5-10 games a season and sim the rest). Made some sweeping changes (traded away Eriksson, Roussel, Gagner, Del Zotto, Markstrom, picked up Ekholm, Morrissey, Brown, Theodore, Saros in goal, and a 1st round pick). Missed the playoffs by a tiebreaker to end 2018-19 season. Ugh.

In 2019 draft, I traded up to get the 1st overall pick, a franchise RW. Signed Mark Stone, Panarin, Myers (replacing Tanev) in FA, traded for Sanheim mid-season for depth. Demko took over as starting G, Pettersson grew to an 89 and moved up to 1st line C, Boeser scored 46 goals. We won 60 games, 123 points (President's Trophy), simmed and ... lost in the first round to Calgary (8th seed) in 6 games. So yeah, same old EA NHL!

Overall, I'm really enjoying it. The new scouting/fog of war makes it more interesting, and the simming seems to be smoother/quicker overall. The gameplay is also much more realistic.

How do you guys get your top players to score? I have a 95 and 90 overall on my top line averaging only 60-70 points a season.

Are you simming, or playing?

If playing, turn the attribute effects up to 10/10.
