Is there a way to get goalie equipment to match the team colors for an expansion team? I made the pads with team colors in the creation section, but now that I am in franchise mode I don't see how to equip them or find a suitable goalie mask.

Been a month since this game has released and I still dont think ive scored more than 2 goals in a game.

That being said my Red Wings franchise, horrifying start. 4-20-3 to the season. Ive gotten pretty good at not giving up goals though, but really hard to get under 2 GAA with a team like the wings.

You have to go into edit player in franchise and edit their equipment. The individual players' equipment choices overrule the team equipment.

It's a terrible design, but you can change it.

Re: How's your franchise going? NHL 19 Edition

Hello all,

Just bought the game on sale and going to start a franchise with the Colorado Avalanche.

I played a lot of NHL 18 and got through two seasons with a Sabres franchise. Also did a season with a created team, the Seattle Wizards.

I'll be starting out using my sliders from last year. I play on pro, 5min periods which worked great for me last year.

Buffalo and Colorado are I suppose my two favorite teams if I were to choose. Last year I rolled with Buffalo so this year I'm gonna go with the Avalanche.

Played a couple games, including my season opener already. Managed to win 4-3 in OT after being down 3-1 at one point vs Minnesota.

I will post updates every 10 games, which I'll play 6 of those at random.

A couple questions I have...how do you all scout? Do you leave fog of war on? I left it on and set scouting to auto for now. I tend to typically always auto scout in sports video games personally, just so I don't feel I have an advantage over the AI. But this year looks way different so may give it a shot. What do you guys do?

Looking forward to reading updates of other's franchises. Will post update soon!

Are there any major or game breaking bugs in franchise mode that one might need to be aware of before starting out, or any precautions that should be taken. Particularly when doing a 32 team league.

Thanks in advance.

2018-2019 Colorado Avalanche season update #1

The first 10 games of the season are complete! We start the season strong with a 6-3-1 record over these first 10 games.

Date: October 26, 2018

Record: 6-3-1 (13pts), second in Central Division.

Injuries: C C. Soderberg out having elbow surgery until December 19th.

D T. Barrie out until November 2 with a sore hip

Games I played:

4-3 OTW vs Wild

3-2 L vs Flyers

6-5 W @ Blue Jackets...crazy game!

3-2 SOW @ Sabres...very fun game. I let AI do my shootouts btw

6-5 L @ Rangers...McKinnon came into the game with zero goals, left with a hat trick in Madison Square Garden! Loss was truly heartbreaking. Up 5-4 and Rangers have empty net. They score twice within a matter of 30 seconds to win it!

7-1 L vs Lightning...goalie was pulled mid second period. This was a game I'd rather not ever remember playing lol. Turrible. Just turrible!

Team leaders:

Points... Rantanen 12pts (5g 7a)

Goals... Kerfoot (7)

Assists... Barrie, Rantanen (7)

Goalie stats:

Semyon Varlamov- 5w 3l 1otl 0so .881% 3.27gaa

Philipp Grubauer- 1w 0l 0otl 0so .866% 3.39gaa

Overall, my sliders feel good converting over from NHL 18. I am working with goalie sliders though. My save % are awful for user. I think these last two games I got the cpu goalies to play better. But feels like I have a lot of work to do for human goalies.

Games I will play out of next 10 are:

Vs Senators (2-4-2)

@ Canucks (6-4-1)

@ Jets (5-5-0)

Vs Bruins (7-2-1)

Vs Capitals (5-3-1)

@ Ducks (3-6-2)
