Hello
I never really played a nhl game, but im thinking about buying nhl 19.
Im a big fan of franchise and career modes (fifa, nba) , so my questions are about the franchise mode.
1) how many years is the franchise mode? ( a.e. in fifa its 15, in nba its 80)
2) would you recommend the franchise mode of nhl?
3) what period length would you recommend?
Thanks

As far as number 3 goes,
There are different game styles. There's 4 in total, but you'll probably only be interested in "competitive" or "full sim".
"Competitive" is preset for 4 minute periods. This style is also used for online modes. This is what most people use. It plays a little "looser" and doesn't require as much attention to detail as Full Sim. If you were to use this style preset with default settings, you'd get ok results stats wise. You'll probably come up short in most categories.
"Full Sim" is preset for 10 minute periods. It is designed for more realistic results. It plays slower than the other styles and the sliders are set to limit the offensive abilities. It's still a somewhat "open" game, but you're not going to be able to run around and do what you want.
Full Sim is what I use and this year it is playing great with the right tuner (right now that is tuner 1.01). I use default settings and the results are spot-on. However, if you've never played an NHL game before, Full Sim may be too difficult for you until you've put in a lot of time with the game.
That being said, you can probably find a slider set on this site that will fit your skill level, but there is still a lot to learn if you're starting from scratch. Some slider gurus seem to be blending the Competitive and Full Sim styles (with gameplay sliders), so you'll find different period lengths depending on the slider set.
