How many games per season do you play?

I usually play 1, sim 3. Play every game of the playoffs.

I play about 20, then I realize every game is exactly the same and I switch to playing something else.

Seasons are too long and I don't like to sim games. I won't start another franchise or buy the game till they add a custom season length and or online franchise.

What I typically do is ensure that I play every team atleast one time, and then from there I try to alternate home and away (15 and 15). When the playoffs come I usually play every other game in the series, and elimination games.

This is possible by rage quitting. I wish you were right though and they'd develop an easier sim system in NHL series. Also I feel what makes this game harder than other sports games to pull thru all of the 82 games in a season is the sluggish menus. I can't stand that EA still hasn't gotten it right with the speed of menus

Sim the first two periods, play the third and OT.
Every game, AHL and NHL.
Currently at 5 minute periods on pro but will adjust to reflect accurate stats.

Wow very surprised at the amount of 'simmers'.
You can pretty much get 3 X 6min qtr games in, in around just over an hour with reasonable stats.
So regular season+ playoffs depending on how deep you go should see you finished within 4-6 weeks.
Bearing in mind the real season lasts what around 8 months how much quicker do you need it finished..
