BAP Outcomes - Where Were You Drafted?

Curious if anyone is noticing the same trend as me...

I’ve started BAP 7 times. Six times through the memorial cup, trying to go first overall (because I’m a NYR fan, not because I need to be 1st) and all six times I went #2 overall to LAK. I’ve had between 13 and 18 points in 4 games each time and still been #2 each time. A few play throughs I had a 1.9x multiplier on almost every game. Doesn’t matter, if I play memorial cup, I go #2. I played one version where I chose to start in Europe. I had 12 points in the tournament and went #1. It seems like if you start in Canadian juniors you cannot go #1?

Went 1st overall out of Europe and only played 4 games. Got eliminated in second round but had 10 points.

Started in the Memorial Cup and went 1st overall to the Rangers as well.

I had 0 points after my first two games in the Memorial Cup as a LW grinder. I was projected to go 156th. I had 0 points until the finals where I got 2 goals and 1 assist. I went 1st overall to the Rangers. I succeeded a persuade attempt with the Rangers and failed one with the Kings in the interviews if that matters.

my goalie was drafted 160th overall yesterday, 7th round, was drafted by anahiem ducks, am getting scored on left and right am so bad in net, I feel like toddler or little kid in net, compared to NHL 20 where I insanely good, but am still learning the system, yesterday something clicked in my mind, I finally was stopping shots, I think I have to set up this years be a pro goalie differently, compared to NHL 20, I might have to lower some things, buts its becoming more joyable this time around.

I got a 91 on my interview with the Rangers. Still went #2. I don’t know if it’s because I’m playing as a defender and NY has a lot of defenders in the system or what. Honestly, at this point I’m over getting drafted by NYR but I’d like to at least go 3 or 4 instead of 2 since I’m just not much of a LAK fan. I go #2 every single time.

How are your other parts of the game besides scoring?

Most of the time I’m getting 90%+ on defense and 77% or better on team play. I’m ending up with overall As every time and 1.8-1.9 multipliers.

I haven’t downloaded the title update from release because I feel like it usually ruins the game. The pre-patch skating and AI always seem better and then it gets ruined by the first update. I don’t know if that could be effecting it and it’s a glitch or bug that was fixed with the update.

My only other thought would be that the Rangers won’t take a D because they’re stocked there. I get told I’m going #1 multiple times each play through. I rack up points and a lot of times have better defensive games than offense. I wouldn’t care where I got drafted, I just don’t want to play a career with LAK but I get taken #2 every single time.

I believe there was a bug pre title update that you would always be drafted by the Kings. That's probably your issue.

That’s probably it. So my own fault. I guess I’ll take my chances with the title update. Hope the gameplay still feels as good afterward because right now it’s - while miles from perfect - the most enjoyable it’s been for me in several years.

In both I had only one point in the first two games of the playoffs and in both cases we lost the series in the 1st round.

I'm playing All Star as realistic as possible, with 20 minutes and realistic gameplay settings. My team mates feel much worse than the AI ones, as soon as they are touched they lose the puck and their shoots are way far from the goal.

I might need to switch to the standard gameplay settings instead of realistic.

This is always a problem with BAP games difficulty settings, I want it difficult for me but I don't want my team mates to suck as well as I want to roleplay as a team player, not to be the selfish superstar that does it all by himself.

Difficulty should apply both to the AI and to your AI controlled team mates.

I played the trial which I believe was before the update, so I doubt that’s it. It’s probably your position. I played as a center. Try that and see what happens?
