I didn’t buy this game for the first time in 10 years. This is the exact reason why.*

Agreed 100%. Would also like the ability to edit attributes during a season like Madden or The Show. That way we can keep up with the ever fluctuating attributes of players instead of having to start a franchise all over when new attributes are released

I haven't owned a hockey game in decades but I have been getting back into hockey the last couple of years. I was actually ready to purchase NHL 21. The biggest problem with the game is no 31 team setting. I hate how the CPU runs the teams and I like to keep it a little realistic and match the current season. I don't understand why this feature has not made it into NHL 21 either.

If they give us roster sharing, I’m going to throw a proposal out there:

Cycloniac, Alkostopolus, Shanster - what do you say we get together and make the best rosters ever? Maybe we can get Shogun too. I’ll reach out to Puckhead from the Revamped days again too.

LOL... I wouldn't hold your breath its NOT going to happen for HOCKEY anyway..

Neither is connected GM.. There in no way for EA to make money by adding those features for offline players.

MICRO TRANSACTIONS are the only revenue stream for any game makers

Re: NHL 21 Roster Share Would Be Huge Win, So Why Does It Remain Absent?

The reason roster share is a feature that is going away, not returning, is that it is not a winner for publishers. It makes it easier for gamers to skip years and just use shared rosters.

Also, the real trend in sports gaming is bringing back competitiveness. For that you need a common baseline everyone uses. Sliders and custom rosters break the game, and make it hard to move gamers from franchise. Things like HUT and Chel work because your success is compared to everyone else's based on the same settings and rosters.

Tale a look at MLB The Show and look at their downloaded rosters. It's pretty easy to see that even for a game like MLB The Show, the number of people that download custom rosters is just a tiny % of the overall sales. Seriously, they want the roster share guys to just stop playing and pay attention to something else they enjoy more.

This is not a mystery. And EA would much prefer to lose 5-10% of their base than create a feature that will cost them far more money than the dedicated sim franchise guys can pay.
