So the NHL game still has black cutouts of players not in the game (haven't purchased for 3 years)?
Most sports games have had the custom somewhat realistic avatar pictures for years.

Yes, many of real Players have only this black Silhouettes without a real Player pic. EA allways add new Players at Roster updates without a Bio photo. That’s a shame.

So basically the article explains nothing about how the actual X-factor mechanics work. Just how the X-factor mechanic is woven into each game mode.

They never claimed it would explain the mechanics. The headline states it would explain how XFactor works across all modes.

Doesn’t has it not more sense to give Players which are on a hot streak a +, and on cold streak a - Booster instead of this x factor ? I mean not this way they do now. Would think to measure it on a 10 game statistic and not long therm as now. In general miss this 5 or 10 game statistic cause if I decide a Trade want to have actual specific infos of this Player. Also good to know if he won some Awards or Cup rings.

They've tried that in the past and it didn't work that well.
Also, being on a hot streak did nothing to exaggerate a players "Type" over another.
A passer still didn't play any different from a sniper, or a dangler, or a speedster.
The player just got a boost so they were better than others.
IRL, when Adam Oates was on a hot streak he didn't suddenly score more goals than Hull.
Craig Janey didn't turn into Pavel Bure.

IMO, X-Factors is something this series has sorely needed for a while now.
This series has always been truly dreadful when it comes to exemplifying differences in player types so I'm willing to give this new dynamic a chance.

As far as I understood this x factor is given to special Players which means you will have it from basics and can not earn it during a career ? For example it means that a good playing Rookie who had no special abilities at the draft day can not earn this X factor during his career.
