How the hell do I win faceoffs????

My god, last game I played... In the first period I lost 34-3 on faceoffs, please help.

I can't imagine faceoff changing much since the last time I played (2016-2018).

Isn't it still a rock-paper-scissors>timing>player rating mechanic?

Once you understand what beats what. It's all about knowing your opponents tendencies.

if the guy keeps beating you with quicker sticks, try the tie up mechanism. If I lose the first few face-offs I always resort to that. Then it becomes a fight for the puck more than anything.

Like a straight shot? Nope not a straight shot. I scored one playing around with my brother once. But he let me. But I've never in a actually game before.
