Franchise Uniform Question

My question is if a new Alternate Uniform is part of an upcoming Update does it require a restart of an existing franchise to get access to it? It has been a few years since Ive really got in to a NHL franchise and I seem to recall the uniforms being tied to the roster.




I didn't have any luck finding my answer with the search function.




Thanking in advance for any answers.

I think(but not 100% sure)that uniform updates are through roster updates, you probably would have to restart franchise.

That's not the case. As soon as you have downloaded the roster update that includes the new uniforms and made that roster your active roster in the main menu, those uniforms become available even in saves that use older rosters.

At least that's how it's been for the last few years.

No you dont have to restart....just update your online roster by starting an online match the game will update your roster...then just back out and the new unis should be in your game

How can they be be in your existing franchise after you update rosters? The new rosters won’t be in there, I wouldn’t think the uniforms would till you start over.

The unis are not part of the franchise save file. Getting the roster loaded in the front end gets the unis in the game and then they are accessible in any mode regardless of the roster used in the mode.

Fritz44 and myself have both answered the question speaking from experience so I don't know why you are challenging this given you initally stated yourself you weren't 100% sure of what you were saying.

An addition to allow you to add created jerseys to regular NHL team during franchise mode like you can do with a created team would be a neat implementation. Would allow you to create jerseys right when they're released and keep your franchise mode fresh every year or two.
