Be A Pro - Line Changes

In last years game you used to be able to line change on your own by hitting the O button (PS5). In this year's game, nothing happens when I hit the O button. My guy just sits there until it's been time to change again. Has something changed?

The game is built for the sim to next shift, not for classic settings, so set it to be a pro setting: authentic, then basically press the B button,if you are on Xbox series x, at least that's what I do.

I have it set to Authentic but that only allows you to sim to your next shift. I want to be able to sit on the bench, then wait till my health meter goes back up, then manually line change myself in. Many times, the CPU doesn't sim my line in at appropriate times.

For example, I am on the 1st power play unit. However, 9 times out of 10, my line doesnt start out first on the power play. We get subbed in with about 40 seconds left. That is ridiculous, because even if your energy is down, the 1st line will always go first. Never seen an NHL team not start their first line unless its like back to back powerplays or something.

Also - the CPU will leave my line (the 1st line) on the bench at the end of the game, especially when we are down a goal or its tied. Again, very rarely is that going to happen in the NHL.

In previous NHL versions, you could sub yourself in. I just wanted the ability to do that again and I thought there was an option.

oh then set it to classic for that, don't set it to authentic, set it to classic, be a pro setting: classic.
