The submission system and damage looks dope. Everything else looks pretty much the same lol.

Well that was underwhelming lol. 3 years and we get cinematic replays and blood. Improved submissions i guess.

The striking was definitely underwhelming. I'm not surprised though. I am pumped for the submission system though. I've been asking for this type of submission system since the THQ games. I've literally never won by sub in any UFC game since they added those ridiculous minigames. Absolutely killed the sub game for me. Never bothered learning the minigames offensively. Very happy with what i saw for the new submission system.

I am not going to buy. First of all, the striking looked the exactly same as ufc4. I really hate that skating footwork and super ugly jab, straight aniamtions. and The graphics doeson't look even better than before. Why is the game released on ps5?? Looks like it will run well enough on PS4. smh... Hopefully this game will be the last one EA made.

The UFC extended their deal so this will not be the last one.

Regarding the graphics, just wait and see. I have alot of gameplay and presentation issues with UFC 5 but no graphics complaints. The game looks like a PS5 game and definitely better than UFC 4.

absolutely no attention to detail.

The clip of Volk flexing was very soulless, with no expressions on his face (this is an issue most of the EA titles on the frostbite engine have, very soulless-looking characters.

Positive though: The transition stuff looks seamless, but can't really tell what the mechanics are from that trailer.

I'm guessing thr CAFs are the same old CAFs? The CAF in the career mode video looked like the same exact face of one of the templates already.

I gotta know...can we grapple against the cage?

But the animations are so poor it ruins the immersion. When Olivera inverted into the saddle then switched to outside heel hook this looked like two guys flow rolling and drilling techniques.

The grappling looks very light, when mma grappling is more emphasis on being heavy, tight, body locks chest to chest passing. This looks like the same clunky grappling system and animations very similar to EA UFC 1

CAF hasnt changed much. More slots but its basically the same. I'm very disappointed about this given that I was promised this would change during the UFC 4 patch period and definitely with UFC 5.

Cage grappling is the same as ufc 4.

It does. I have a few issues with it but they are minor. I also competely agree with your take about no meters and gates. TBS is my favorite addition to the gameplay by far. I like it even better than the damage additions.

Because I would really like your opinion on the gameplay and the presentation.

I don't know why people complain about striking. It is literally the best striking in any combat sport game so far in my opinion. UFC 4 made some bad changes and actually felt worse overall, but the fundamentals are still there and I am more than happy they will stay.
