New Xbox 4x more powerful than xbox one...how will this effect the UFC series?

"The main concern for Scorpio is apparently its power, as Sony's PlayStation 4 has outperformed Xbox One in this way for a while. According to Polygon, "Microsoft is determined to end this narrative." Microsoft's current performance target for Scorpio is around 6 teraflops, the source said—quite a bit higher than PlayStation NEO's expected 4.14 teraflops. Scorpio is unlikely to be released before late 2017."

More powerful than playstation's new console as well apparently.

This can only be good news for the UFC series right? With all the lag problems, 30 fps etc

its not effecting the UFC serries that much. It will effect us, so that we have to buy a new console every 2 Years to play the new games. It´s the Apple mentalety. Wanne be up to date? Then spend a ton of cash in new hardware.

If they think this business model will work they have amoyher thing coming. This is exactly what it takes to kill console gaming. Anyone with any sense will invest in a gaming pc as opposed to buying a new xbox

2018 sometime and I probably won't buy it for six months so thats at least 2 and a half years so it's not that bad really.

I know the neo's out next year but I guess you don't have to upgrade straight away right?

Well, not entirely true. From the early reports, it appears as if these consoles are going to be completely optional. And it makes sense, with PS4 being in the lead as far as sales go, they don't want to lose that position.
And Microsoft wouldn't want to jump ship either. It wouldn't be received very well, and people would be hesistant to buy their new console. It sounds like these are going to be focused on optional graphical upgrades on games, yet being playable on both consoles. Sort of like a PC, I guess. Now for EA UFC this is an interesting position because I think we can agree that they've already taken graphics over gameplay. I understand the approach but I don't favor it.

If they actually went for 60fps from the start, this would have put them in an excellent position. Through these new consoles, they would have still been able to showcase the amazing graphics of their game, while also satisfying the people hungry for incredible visuals. However, that is going to be a difficult selling point when that new X1 comes around, and if it is actually going to work as I expect it to, since this is all very early speculation.
Fortunately though, I think both Sony and Microsoft are going to throw out the details during E3. And that's only weeks away.

It's certainly not too late for EA UFC 3 to take advantage of these changes though. I actually think they're very important to take into consideration. If people are in it for the graphics, they'll likely own these more expensive consoles. But I think even though we all love this franchise, the fps decision is one that nobody in our community can ever get behind.

Re: New Xbox 4x more powerful than xbox one...how will this effect the UFC series?

There is no possible way they make these games with the newer consoles in mind. The market is already smaller because of the newer gen consoles. Making the game different for the newest consoles would be a waste of money. The market just won't be there. Many people won't be willing to buy the newer consoles because they are basically set up for 4K. Not that many actually have 4K because there just isn't enough programming. It is basically like when HDTVs were introduced. People who had money to burn buy them, even though they have very little content that it can actually use. If they don't build the games for this gen console, they would lose so many sales. That wouldn't be good since they already have a limited player base.

I know I'm not going to buy a PS4.5. I have a gaming PC. If I want better graphics, I just buy for PC. That isn't the case though. Graphics are great, but I would take BF4 on console over BF4 on PC any day. For two reasons. The consoles have a very different community for the game. The game already looks good enough on PS4. I have it on console and PC, but prefer to play it on console. Less chance for hackers as well. Almost every match, PunkBuster boots players for cheating. I'd rather not play like that. Actually seeing how many people try to cheat ruins the games.

ummm... why am I the only one who's sure it will drastically effect UFC 3 (60fps at 1080p with better graphics at least a little) along with every other game that will be released post the console upgrades?

I think we're supposed to be celebrating right now because for me, this means UFC 3 might be the perfect MMA game of all time

They downgrade the game as it is I believe so it is the same on both consoles. Why would they change that because of newer consoles of the same generation that won't sell as well as their predecessors? Most who already own a console won't buy a new one unless they have to or want to. The market won't be the same. They will be competing with their own consoles. How do you even make someone buy one? There has to be incentive. Not too many game companies are going to want their games exclusively on the newer consoles.

Given the time frame, pretty sure it'll be UFC 4 you'll see on the new xbox but who knows. No reason UFC 3 isn't on Neo though.

I'll buy the new console everything will be backwards compatible anyway all the way down to 360 games so everything I own.

Think its subscription only playstation but i'm sure they're gonna bring out some form of free backwards compatibility to compete with xbox. Making people pay is daft.

I'm cool with leaving this topic open since you guys are discussing it's direct impact on the game. But if unnecessary comments like this continue:

Some of you are confused so let me make a few things clear, first off the Xbox upgrade will only come after the PS(Neo) upgrade because Microsoft are coming in late, they're basically copying Sony right now, which they have to in this case. What I believe this will cause is a graphical/performance option in the options menu just like on PC (The master race of gaming that is), the first game to do that has already released it's demo, it's on PS4 it's called Nioh and you can choose between graphics and performance.

What I think will happen in the near future is every game will basically promote the new consoles in the graphical options menu. You'd probably be able to choose performance (crappy graphics at 60fps), or graphics (medium ish graphics at 30fps) with a better option of both but it's grayed out on a current PS4 or Xbox one which will sell the new consoles on it's own.

This is my prediction because it's the smartest thing to do and both parties are pretty damn smart.

If you'd ask me though, the best thing to do is to burn all the consoles and never buy one again, move to PC and we're all good. I am not kidding. BUT you can't control everyone can ya

I don't see that with this series. They wanted to keep it the same across consoles. That is why it is downgraded a little as it is. They would likely have to do quite a bit to have two different versions. Not worth the money most likely. I wouldn't get my hopes up. However, the next game isn't supposed to be until 2018, so you never know. I just don't see it. That could give them an advantage over someone with the current gen consoles. They wouldn't want that. Best bet is to hope they can improve it enough on this generation. I'd be completely happy with that. No clue how long this console generation will even last. The 4rth game, if there is one, could be on a new device altogether. More than likely not even consoles. More like a small box that attaches to your TV and a controller. Then you will play games off the cloud. I really don't think we will see a new "console" generation. Especially with the way Microsoft is trying to steer it to PC based.

You mentioned graphics and nothing else... You are killing the console and video game industry. Jus sayin.

What this means to me is we will get better graphics engines, and no upgrade to the processing engines. Meaning same game play with skin updates.

the game already looks amazing. No graphic updates necessary for a few years. they should focus strictly on gameplay.
