2nd Qualifier / Live Event Competition starts up in a couple hours!!

I almost....ALMOST....called in sick today. But I have a vacation in Mexico coming up this summer so I need every single vacation day lol

Anyway...I can't wait to see what kind of run I can make...My goal is 50 wins. Doubt that will be enough to make it to Vegas but never know lol and I'll have fun regardless. Last time I only hit 28 wins but that was really my own fault; as at one point I was 25-1 but was running out of time and couldn't play the last day and a half of the tournament, so instead of resting, played late into the night, and went 3-2 in my last fights lol should have won them all.

Oh well. Going to be tough, for sure, lots of killers (nerds ) out there

I think this LEC in particular will be interesting....nerf to MT Knees and clinch in general might make it tougher for some of the top folks to play it so safe. While at the same time, improved netcode (allegedly in the patch ) will HOPEFULLY make this LEC a lot less laggy than last time.

Going to be a lot of Cruz vs Cruz I suspect; and probably a lot of decisions too. Not too pumped about that lol but hopefully the speed of the smaller weights will be in my favor (speed = skill; right? lol)

I'm really excited to follow the action.

I'm so glad we got the patch in before the start of the second round.

Makes it much more interesting, and provides the perfect stress test for our changes.

Any unintended side effects have no where to hide in a tournament like this.

Should be fun.

do you think the take-down denial window is to big? any tips on easier take-downs.. such as use double leg instead of single or anything? i use side to side movement but still get blocked a majority.

naw, no butterflies but I did eat some tacos last night that made my stomach turn.

on a side note... I wish the live event had Rockhold vs Bisping also.

Unfortunately I'm outside of the US so I can't qualify. Wish they didn't region lock the tourney. But I'll still be playing for the competition.

It was much easier to make it to Vegas in Fight Night compared to this --- partly b/c 16 people made it for fight night vs. 4 people here; and partly b/c the online component makes it available to EVERYONE, rather than those who had somehow heard about the Gamestop tournament, and were willing to get out of the house and drive to various Gamestop events in your city/state/region

Plus of course the Gamestop tournament was a bracketed tournament, and while it was One Loss and You're Done, was a lot easier than ripping off a 150-3 record online lmao

I probably only had to win 15 fights to make it to Vegas; and only a few of them were competitive against Top 100 level competition (and it was at the lower end of the top 100, at best)

Probably helped I was in the Indiana and Louisville, KY regional, too...I'm sure NYC or LA or Chicago (where the eventual winner came from) would have been much harder to qualify. I had the option of going to Chicago or Kentucky for the semi-finals....I made the right choice lol


Regardless who makes it there, I hope they will stream the finals!!!!! Or at the VERY least, have a recording. Should be awesome to watch

Just seeing the leaderboard records from last event is impressive. Even if you don't make too much of an impact, playing in the LEC will make you a better player overall if you can hone in on the different successful metas. Tactically it's smart lots of top players party up and stagger their matchmaking to avoid eliminating each other, sort of like a fight team.

For sure man I really did improve my game after the first LEC; the level of competition was very high. Made going back to ranked or UT a walk in the park lol

There are top players out there trying to avoid each other? lol --- I mean, do you what you gotta do to win, but there's only going to be one winner, there's no TEAM in this sport

I just want to report that i have experience little to no lag at all. So good job to the devs for making it a smoother experience. 11-3 on first try. Going to re-enter after a break. man, I'm not sure if I can get that 40 wins lol
