I can no longer support the UFC
You can move this after but I wanted ppl to see this. What they did to Ariel Helwani was absolutely disgusting. I'm tired of Dana. I'm tired of the Fertitas. They rip these fighters off and get filthy rich off them. The Reebok sponsorship deal is another example of that. I know it will make no difference but I've had enough. Next time you order a PPV just remember how rich you're making Uncle Dana....Tags: None -
Re: I can no longer support the UFC
We don't know the full circumstances behind this. Was the media told not to report this? Because it's obviously something Dana wanted to keep under wraps. So it wouldnt surprise me if people were told don't say anything about it. And where was all this hate for the UFC when other guys have been banned for life? But just because it was this top guy instead of the lowly guy that works joesmmablog.com now all of sudden it matters, damn hypocrites.

Re: I can no longer support the UFC
Definitely crazy. Ariel is the man.
It sucks their whole team got kicked out. I really love the Esther lin FOCUS videos, but she was also kicked out, so now we don't get to see a FOCUS of Bisping realizing his dream.

I mean, I've only been here a week, but I don't think I've seen you make one positive post in my time here. It's always something negative.Comment

Re: I can no longer support the UFC
The UFC doesn't get to tell people what they can and can't report on, which chafes them to no end. They can kick Helwani out of UFC events and take his credentials but he can still write articles and post news to twitter. That's literally his job.We don't know the full circumstances behind this. Was the media told not to report this? Because it's obviously something Dana wanted to keep under wraps. So it wouldnt surprise me if people were told don't say anything about it. If the UFC gave him that info and told him it was under embargo then yeah, they're in the right here, but only so far as it was a good idea to give Ariel Helwani, famous for constantly scooping their big stories any sort of inside info. They're either incredibly petty (they are) or fools.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Re: I can no longer support the UFC
That's what I was getting at. I forgot the term for it. Maybe the news was under an embargo. We never heard any rumblings about Brock wanting to get back into UFC or the UFC was talking with Brock or even wanted to talk with him before last night. So I'm willing to bet that this news was under an embargo. But obviously I have no idea. I'm just guessing.

Re: I can no longer support the UFC
Yeah this really ruined the night for me. I will miss this goofy dude asking the real questions we need answers for, he was the peoples man. And I will miss him at the next big press events.
This is worse than the Stitch situation, the man is just doing his ******* job and he stood by the UFC for years, saying nothing but good things about them for so long even tho they didn't deserve the praise.
Yesterday we lost Ali, and now we lost the Nose who always knows.Comment

Re: I can no longer support the UFC
I didnt have an issue with the Stitch situation. If I went to the press and complained about a new deal my company did....I would be fired the next day. Stitch cant expect to **** on the Reebok deal (which is a bad deal but the UFC loves it) publicly and then collect a paycheck from the UFC at the next event. Especially when you are just a cut man and easily replaceable.Yeah this really ruined the night for me. As for Helwani, the UFC's position is that Brock was pissed that the news leaked and they had to do damage control. They asked Helwani to name his sources. He refused and White kicked him and MMA Fighting out of the building.
Its completely wrong but its the state of MMA now. The UFC gets plenty of coverage from major new outlets like ESPN and Fox. They have their own news outlets like UFC.com and Fightland. They dont need Ariel or some of the smaller sites (in comparison to ESPN) like Sherdog and MMA fighting anymore. Last night the top 3 stories on ESPN were UFC stories (Bisping, Lesnar, UFC 202).
If you arent associated with a major news outlet, the UFC will blacklist you if they feel you crossed the line.
I'll be shocked if the UFC caves here. As pissed as people were last night, they are going to buy UFC 200 in a month. Ariel is a great personality but I'm not going to boycott one of the biggest shows over someone I dont know.Comment

Re: I can no longer support the UFC
Pretty crappy of the UFC, i love his interviews, i feel he gives the best interviews in the business, its hardly ever the same "what were your thoughts on your performance" when you hear him talk with the fighters, he sounds genuine when he asks fighters about things outside the cage (watch his videos where he walks around and hangs with fighters) their personal lifes, etc.... He asks the questions FANS want to hear and to be answered, not what the major networks want to have said. His video's with Rampage are pure GOLD! A shame.Comment

Re: I can no longer support the UFC
I'm not gonna deny myself the pleasure and the escapism of a UFC fight for 1 reporter, even tho you get no argument from me, I agree its messed up and the fighters do need to start a fighters union to get better treatment. But that's THEIR battle not mine.PSN:BandOfGypsys91

Re: I can no longer support the UFC
I see both sides, and I love Ariel Hewani he's the only one with balls to ask decent questions.
However, the brock was a suprise for the fans. They spent millions on the promo with brock in it.
ALL the other media outlets knew and kept it a secret because the UFC asked them to. They sent out a tweet thanking everyone else for keeping it secret.
This is a business, and i'm sure a lot of hard work went into the brock deal. I understand the UFC being pi**ed. UFC 200 is a big deal.
Ariel should've held off on this one.Comment

You got a screenshot of this??? Because I just looked through 99% of the tweets from the last 2/3 days and didn't see anything on this.

After reading that, you can see why it is so hard to get the UFC to allow certain things in the game. I've said it forever, the UFC is very strict about how their product is represented.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment
