Re: Which fighters have the heel hook submission????
Some already have heel hooks, however, leg locks seem to be pretty weak in this game and lack many advantageous entries (aside from the kneebar reversal from top half guard... Which I've yet to actually hit in an actual game).
I assume this thread was specific to the Iminari roll into the over/under leg lock position. I can't wait for that either. Hopefully it's the beginning of a more advanced leg lock system to match the upper body submission gameComment

Re: Which fighters have the heel hook submission????
There's like 2 fighters in the entire game with heel hooks. And they are 1 star, 5 gates....
From my experience so far Frank Mir is the best leg locker in the game, with multiple lvl 3 kneebars.
The kneebar reversal from halfguard that Kseary mentioned is beast. I finish guys with that all the time with Mir. Just deny transitions in halfguard until they go for your back, then hold L2+R2, and press the stick in the direction of their transition.
El Cucuy, and Rory Mac are the only guys who should have the Imanari Roll though.PSN: Lord__Hazanko

Having a 5 Gate Heelhook in the game is silly. It should be 3 at most. Hopefully in the next game you can punch out of certain submission attempts to add to the realism.ilovejiujitsuComment

Re: Which fighters have the heel hook submission????
Hopefully they put thought into it and realize how vastly variable different positions are in terms of control and ability to defend a heel hook.
Very basically you can say three to begin. Easiest escape is inside heel hook from 50/50. Then over/under or leg knot (whatever you want to call it, but reaping position, both feet hidden under the opponents far leg (the non-attacking leg). From leg knot the inside heel hook can be rolled out of (while also rolling into a kneebar. On the other hand leg knot to outside heel hook should be like 2 gates once set up.
So there you go. There are 3 positions the developers could mess with gate #s and speed as all three are unique, with varying degrees of escapability as well as amount of wiggle room to delay/block etc.
I hope the developers consult with people who understand this stuff both statically and dynamically (for transitions to submission changing and all the other things that make the leg lock game so fun)Comment

I think you are overusing the word "easiest" but I see what you are saying haha.Hopefully they put thought into it and realize how vastly variable different positions are in terms of control and ability to defend a heel hook.

I would have liked to see some Knee Bar to Toe Hold to Heel Hook chains back and forth.
Inside Heel Hook is my favorite sub IRL but I would be perfectly fine NOT seeing 50/50 in the game because that could create a game within a game as far as hand fighting, punching out of the sub, counter attacking and on and on.
It's really hard to argue for ANY sub being a 5 Gate Sub though. All of them should either be 2 or 3 Gates tops. Would also lead to more people experimenting and learning the ground game. 5 Gate Sub makes a sub fighter like myself just want to punch face and be done with it.ilovejiujitsuComment

Re: Which fighters have the heel hook submission????
I hate to bring it up....
But Undisputed 3.....
UD3 had all sorts of leglock chains into other leg locks. Inside, and Outside Heelhooks, Toeholds, Achilles locks, various Kneebars. Entries into various leglocks from standing, from clinch, etc.
UD3 blows EA UFC 2 completely out of the water, not even close, when it comes to the leg lock game.
Also a perfect example of how easy it would be to have a much more fleshed out leg lock game, without diving into the real intricacies of a position like 50/50.PSN: Lord__Hazanko

You are right, 50/50 itself looks simple but (as you already know) is extremely intricate in practice, especially nogi as heel hooks become part of the equation.I think you are overusing the word "easiest" but I see what you are saying haha.

That's interesting to me that you disagree with inside heel hook without the leg knot (reaping lock). I guess it just depends on your body and what you practice more maybe. For me I go for the outside/inverted with the leg reap because once you're there, there really isn't an escape.
I love the idea of chaining leg locks since it's much more of a flowing chain game than chokes and arm locks. Knee, toe hold, heel hook, and slicers all kind of flow perfectly into one another. Would be great to see it in the game. Haz and I have been saying this for a whileComment

Re: Which fighters have the heel hook submission????
Kind of off topic but the Inverted (or Inside) Heel Hook is the epitome of perfection in submission form. If it is applied correctly the damage is already done before the tap. Because of the anatomy of the leg the MCL, Medial Mensicus and ACL are the most prone to injury because through evolution they haven't gotten stronger where as the LCL and PCL have. Another caveat is that the twist on an Inverted goes with your natural body motion whereas the Regular Hook goes against your natural body motion because of the 'scooping' nature of it. It's more of a pull where the Inverted is more natural. Both are damaging as can be but the Inverted is 1a and the Regular with or without the reap is 1c. Not close enough to be 1b but not far off hehe. You are right, 50/50 itself looks simple but (as you already know) is extremely intricate in practice, especially nogi as heel hooks become part of the equation.
