UFC 2 Review

Now that UFC 2 has undergone what is supposed to be the final patch, it is fitting to give it a review. I am going to use Gamespot's criteria and format, and mention three positives and three negatives. I am going to post my review in their comments section later today and ask that they take a second look (like they sometimes do). The game has come a long way since their original 7 rating. Maybe if enough OS users ask the same, they will. I have noticed that the number of online players has been dropping lately. New blood is needed.

The Good: Fun, strategic, highly replayable

The Bad: lack of moves guide, there are many hidden moves and strategies, promising modes like LEC and knockout mode are not fully utilized

As a die hard MMA fan I'll be playing this game religiously until EA UFC 3 comes out. I think they have built a solid foundation in terms of gameplay. Online modes are fun for the most part, especially when match making is on point.

With that being said, if I am looking at this game as a critic I think its a solid 7/10. In the next game they really need to focus on adding more for offline gamers. Career mode needs a complete overhaul. The addition of Universe mode would be great. Most people are not going to play these types of games for very long without strong offline modes.

Online? Probably an 8. It's a very fun game to play online. It's quick, UT is pretty fun despite its flaws, the game is pretty well balanced until you get to the really high tiers.

Offline, a 0. Career mode is uninteresting and even if it were good it wouldn't matter because the AI is incompetent. If you haven't played much you might get some mileage out of it but after a while it will almost never win, even on the highest difficulty, which is a fatal flaw for a sports game.
