What kind of HUD would you like in UFC3?

For online play, what would you like to see?

Examples would be stamina bars for yourself & your opponent, or just your own, or none at all. Also, damage display, such as head, body, and limb, ect.

Personally, I would like to only see my own stamina and health. I feel like this would help add to the realism of a fight, while also stimulating the skill ceiling of the game, as people would not be able to rely on meters as much to dictate their actions.

Everyone should see their own stamina and health. Not your opponents

Yeah, I'm the same. My absolute preferred way would be only seeing my own information and none of my opponents, having to rely on visual queues to measure their stamina and health. When this was mentioned before I like the idea of seeing my opponents stamina for grappling though. Only because grappling relies so much on the feel of your opponent. You can feel how strong or weak they are, and you can't derive this from visual queues.

Maybe it doesn't have to be true stamina though. Could be a grappling strength meter or something like that.

Honestly, a few weeks ago I would have completely agreed with you. The more I thought about it though, the more it made sense that it wasn't the right thing to do. I think meters can actually serve as a crutch, and take away from the "feel" of the grappling. Instead of relying on a meter that holds your hand in a way, you have to be completely aware of everything going on, keeping track of damage, stamina, GA ect.

I really think it would actually greatly improve the grappling. More critical decision making is almost always a good thing.

Yeah, I get that. I also have more fun grappling with no meter playing locally with a friend. I can see the argument to be able to grapple as good as the fighter you are playing as, Damien Mia for example, it would be beneficial to see the current grappling strength of your opponent. Totally not necessary and probably would be more fun without it, but in terms of realism and being as good as the fighter you are portraying it would be useful.

i only want to see my stamina and health, he should be mandatory for online play, maybe ill allow a exception for quick play.

I don't mind too much other than my opponent should not be seeing my stamina bar.

I didn't like how in the current game people would come in knowing you are low on stamina and more vulnerable to damage. That mechanic may return in the next game but atleast they'll have to decide for themselves instead of having it all presented to them.

We're going to need to have some visual clues about the state of opponents though.

This. We would definitely need more and better visual cues about the stamina of the opponent if you take away their stamina meter. Moving slower, hands are lower, mouth open or closed, heavy breathing both visual and sound...

I wish maybe there was some kind of "fuzzy meter" for your opponent. One that shows you an approximation of their stamina but isn't 100% accurate. I'm having trouble seeing exactly how it works, but there are scenarios in real life I want to be able to replicate:

-Your opponent is noticeably getting tired so you turn up the heat for the finish.

-Your opponent looks like they are getting tired so you turn up the heat for the finish but then get caught with something big because they weren't as tired as you thought.

-You are gassed but your opponent doesn't realize how much and you can fake it until you recover a 2nd wind.

In general though, I personally, am always in favor of MORE meters.

I want stamina and damage for both. There is not enough visual feedback as in real life to let you know if your opponent is hurt or tired. And I don't just want more hurt animations as justification to remove the damage meter. There are subtle signs of being hurt that just don't come across in a game.

Re: What kind of HUD would you like in UFC3?

I strongly feel like we should only be able to see our own stamina and health or nothing at all. I feel like we already have character animations in place for when a fighter is tired throwing slow strikes, that is clear as day and i dont think we need a green bar to tell us what we already know.

We should see absolutely nothing about our opponents stamina/health because its simply unrealistic and just stupid. Once again the animations are in place if my opponent is hurt or rocked, and i can see when he is tired, so there is no reason for me to see his stamina bar or his health.

When things make sense they make sense, not sure why its so complicated for some.

Honestly I feel Ranked & Ultimate Team should only let us see our own huds. But for player matches we should have options to show only ours, our opponents, or none at all.

Seeing our opponents HUD/ Paperdoll definitely has an effect on strategies. It's not hard to continue to Target a hurt limb seeing your opponents paperdoll showing up RED. That or looking at how they have no stamina is a perfect opportunity to double up damage from that plus the combo multiplier.

It would definitely allow people people to rely more on skill and reactions vs knowing my opponents limb is hurt like this or my opponent has no stamina now is the time to attack, grapple, or submit.

This is simulation experience which we all want but EA is always going to consider the Casuals.
