Can't really do much in somebody's guard, gotta pass it or stack em.

Vividly remembering Kenny Florian throwing Elbows from bottom to bust up his adversaries.

Currently it feels like ground and pound is limited in guard .

Even if you pound the body continuously with elbows postured up in half guard till the body HUD starts blinking once you go for the head ...your opponent has recovered .

You have to be an exceptional grappler or be lucky enough to have an inexperienced opponent to real ground and pound some one effectively in UFC 3 ...but isn't that the way it should work tho in real life to an extent maybe .

Full mount is a death sentence in MMA ...you can virtually see the panic to survive when someone gets mounted ... especially if you aren't Tony Ferguson .

Giving up your back is a death sentence in MMA not so much in UFC 3 .

A rear naked choke from back mount should be curtains bro ...straight up for most fighters .

I have high hopes for ufc4 ...it has to be grappling based .

I’d like to see all postured down strikes from full guard and half guard do more damage, both from bottom and on top. At the moment, unless you’re postured up, it feels almost pointless to throw any strikes in these positions. I’d love to just hold my opponent in half guard and batter their body, or to hold someone in my full guard and batter them with elbows from bottom. At the moment, those things feel redundant.

What we need is something like UD3 had where after you break initial posture control, you could still stay postured down to maintain better control. Below is a pic of what i'm talking about. As you can see, the guy on bottom doesn't have control of chaels posture. Chael has broken initial posture control, but is still remaining postured down. From this position, your postured down strikes were a little more effective than when they had full posture control and it also allowed you to control the guy better. Was same for strikes from bottom too. If the guy broke free out of your posture control, your strikes from bottom where a bit more effective.

The counter would be to posture up so you arent in elbow range. I agree that it should be a perk though. A Ferguson elbow from the guard should be more effective than most.

I think for this game, it having an effect on stamina would be ideal. IRL if you get cut from an elbow, it makes you more susceptible to not being able to see and I'd imagine it becomes more tiring from blood loss (maybe, IDK).

If nothing else it makes sitting In guard more dangerous and forces action.

But do elbow strikes really do anything currently from the bottom ...

there needs to be a stronger elbow strike from postured down DOM position, a strike not as stroke as postured up but more then baby punches. However it will use abit more stamina then baby punches. this will make GnP soften up tactics much better without always having to posture up.
