Does anyone use feints frequently to set up other strikes?
What are your favorite feint then strike combos?
I love the overhand and superman feints then throwing bodyshots.
I also like to fake a body punch then go up top.
It seems like I can come back and win almost any stand up fight ever since I started doing this.

Some of my favorites,

-Feint jab into straight, lead hook, rear upper
-Feint jab into rear leg kick or rear body front kick
-feint forward lead body kick into lead side head kick

feint rear leg kick to straight cross. I love to feint a big strike like a roundhouse and then just land a simple jab and pause, rear straight, hook, upper.

Strike feints you press R2 or the Xbox equivalent during the start up of the strike. For a transition feint you just flick the right stick in the transition you want but don’t actually hold it.

I actually never used feints much but this topic got me to try them out and see what I could come up with. I came up with a lot.

The first list is what you’ll be throwing to make the opponent start fearing the strikes and combos in the first place. The second list is what you will be feinting and then throwing after they take the bait.

These strikes can also set up same level strikes (such as Straight Feint - Head Kick) if the opponent catches on or is susceptible.

You can also use the same strike as you’ve just feinted (such as Straight Feint - Straight) to mix it up, especially if they’re catching on.

Feints

I’ve had the most success with feinting the straight into a lead body kick, leg kick into a head kick, body jab into a lead hook.

Once they start freaking out and taking the bait and preemptively blocking the strike after the feint I will start feinting a leg kick and then throw a leg kick immediately after. Feinting a straight and then throwing a straight or overhand is another favorite.

And I don’t really use these to set anything up as much, but feinting a stationary head kick or push head kick in particular causes people to freak out for some reason.

Note that feints often are completely useless against lower ranked players because they have no concept of making reads and won’t react to your feints. Best to just body them.

I use jab feints and straight feints, then go to the body. So many people can still get the uppercut inputs in when going to the body so the feint tends to keep them holding block.
