Fighter Authenticity Spotlight: Uriah "Primetime" Hall

"Fighter Authenticity" is the obvious next step in EA's UFC evolution to achieve a more realistic simulation experience. This should be done by focusing on each individual fighter's footwork, move sets, reactions, and tendencies. With all of these in place, we can then emulate any fighter to fight like their true life counterpart. So, how is this done? With research! I have fought 2 seasons with Uriah Hall to figure out how to properly use a fighter who has lower stats but who is one of the most talented skilled fighters to ever fight MMA. My thought was what does this fighter need to be able to do in order to have other fighters say...hey, I need to watch out for strike A-F and I can't keep taking his jab. The answer was...he needs to have all of his known tools available, in order to effectively implement the specific fighter presence and individual fighting style. So, in essence, no two fighters should feel the same. Each fighter should be its own creation.

Below is a list of moves and combos for Uriah Hall that are a need for a more realistic approach to fighter realism.

Great post. Uriah Hall is 1 of my favorite fighters but his character is severely lacking.

Can't really argue with video examples. Lets get this guys move set upgraded please

I appreciate the work you put into this, but you don't get authenticity from a moveset. Because almost every fighter is capable of doing all of these. Authenticity comes down to a few basic stats as well as animation from the natural stance of the fighter.

      Speed
      Strength
      Reach
      Power

I couldn't think of much more because nothing else really defines fighters much more.

IF and I mean IF each fighter is given their own base set of animations which includes their natural stance, mannerisms, and movement the other animations chaining off these gives way to the authenticity at presentation level. Otherwise, the stats make up the rest.

EA just has to do a better job with stats (and I should say perks) and everything will fall into place.

Incredible job by the OP. One other thing I would like to see improved is Hall's body model. He looks incredibly skinny in this game.

I love the effort here, man! Thanks for doing these. I can see them being a great resource for the devs to work off of.

Sick post man, tremendous detail. All fighters should have double legs.

I agree! Typically on fight day, he is filled out to about 200+ lbs. In the game, he looks like he is in a different weight class when fighting an Adesanya. Even though Adesanya's body model is absolutely incorrect as well.

Thanks, ZombieRommel! I hope GPD will take a good look at this one. I would also like to see each individual fighter have their own thread in the missing moves topic.

                  Click on:
                  Fighter Missing Moves:
                  -Fighter A
                  -Fighter B
                  -Fighter C
-Fighter D (Click on fighter thread)
                  ---(Input missing gifs/videos)

I think that would be a filter for the clutter and make it so much easier for the devs and us to navigate.

Thanks, Doc! Even if he had a double, I don't think I would use it in a fight with you...lol. Just give me the strikes. I can attempt to put a good GP together with those.

Thanks a lot! I just hope it doesn't go to waste and the devs will utilize not only the information for the fighter but the idea for a focus on the next installment of EA UFC.

Very true. I have watched all of his fights multiple times. If you notice he baits a lot of fighters into close exchanges to try and gas them. Although he looks gassed...he is not. He also likes to back against the cage for that reason.

Hell now that I think about it I can't recall Ronda ever shooting a double not even in her Strikeforce days I could be wrong though but nah don't think you'll see someone like Condit shooting doubles. Lol
