Spear td feels op

Think it needs a tuner, i say this as a grappler. Any time i get a rock i cant fathom why i wouldnt take them down and get a free side control, a very powerful position in meta. The distance it covers is huge, its just way better than trying to land a body strike or two standing.


As for predenials, all you really gotta do is pump a jab and then throw it in the combo.

I think only fighters with a takedown of 90+ should be able to pull it off. it's a serious looking blast double and feels like it can be abused but we'll see how it all transfers to higher level play

I think for the scenario where your opponent has 50% stamina its completely fine as is. It punishes combo spam and feels good to me. (I am not even a grappler btw, I suck at it)

For the rocked scenario, I could see if people would want it nerfed a little. Maybe like the post above mentions, dial it back to ankle-pick denial window.

Personally though, I'm fine with keeping both as they are now. I just hope they don't nerf it too much, this is the first time in the entire UFC series that I have enjoyed getting takedowns because they look and feel so awesome.

Takedowns REALLY need more realistic openings. No "undeniable" tds, just basic common sense timing and a struggle mechnic behind it. I cannot get excited for any of these fine additions to takedowns when timing is all over the place.

I for one, should not be able to automatically pre-deny tds after missing a kick and my foot barely even comes back down. Pre-denial shouldn't even be a thing. But when I notice a fighter just waiting for me to throw a kick to shoot for a td, it's far too easy to stop it. It's too all or nothing with these pre denials & undeniables, what happened to just having realistic takedown windows?

Its very easy to abuse this, one rocked leg or lucky strike and u got one of the best positions in mma with a jab cross setup. It lasts the entire rocked state so u can combo into it. And in the late rounds one wiffed strike usually means u can easy get under 50% and get insta speared.

Oh well, people said the same when i said duck uppercuts were a problem too

i just tried a few matches with the cpu on legendary and found in the second round you can block a few punches then dodge the last one in a combo then insta spear which i thought immediately will be abused by high level players maybe 40% in a little more balanced? not sure yet will obviously take some time to find out. looks amazing tho! hard not to smile when you first see it

I'm with you man. I'm a grappler also and want the whole fight there, but I feel dirty doing this. I have time to pull of a block breaker combo and still get to side control. It needs to be changed to where the denial window scales down the longer you wait. So an instant takedown after the rock would be only a pre deny. Any longer though should have a reaction window.

The “SomeMoveHere and needs a nerd/modification/tuning” mentality is really abused with this game. Features aren’t even out for 3 days and people are requesting modifications. It’s almost as if the idea was set in your mind before the patches come out.
Just to clarify, I’m not directing this at OP or even this thread/request in general, but truly I feel it should at least be given some time. These comments get thrown out as if the development team doesn’t put a great deal of thought into how the sport should behave and making that possible within the constraints of the game rules.
I’m sure some just want to spark discussion and have a post with “wow look my thread is at 57 replies”, but whatever the reasons are. Give it a little more time at least?

Most other games/teams can’t and won’t respond to this type of feedback. Responding to feedback to soon can also cause un unecesswry re work if the change is un founded.

That's funny. You can pre deny though, but since it plays out the whole rocked state, you can throw out punches and then fly them into side control everytime.

If that's the case, reduce the regular undeniable TD to 87 TD Offense then.

That being said, ranked has been hilarious so far seeing people go for this. The only person that I haven't been able to present against is Advaita. It is tougher when it's disguised under a combo, but: that's MMA!
