the push seems like a useful tool and I see a lot of high-level players using it. whenever I try and use it I get punished though. when's a good time to use it?

either when you been blocking/slipped their punches push them back or when you lot about to enter the pocket(abit more dangerous) and either go for a headkick/body kick or takedown.

You could use the push and inmediately after, the takedown. Seems unstoppable if you dont predeny it, it is very OP.

Time the push when you don't think your opponent is going to throw. Pressure them, jab feint and push them after they throw and stay in their face. If they don't throw back, they'll get pushed to the cage. You can use this to bait your opponent into throwing and countering with strikes or slipping them, once you push them far enough to the cage they will often start to panic and you can punish them with strikes or grappling.

This 1 was kind of cool. We were both gassed after a grueling fight. Managed to pull off a nice looking KO with just about no gas left.

did pushing really add anything expect to bully them? seems you could have easily finished all those guys without pushing

You could probably just spam combos and have the same result tbh. I just prefer to be technical and pick my shots.

As a purely defensive technique, it's mostly useless. If you try to push someone spaming combos you'll just get cracked, or youll push them but the combos will just run right into you anyway. Sometimes defensively, if my back is close to the cage, I'll push them, then lunge to circle out and get away from the fence. But yeah, defensively, at least in my experience, it doesn't do much.

Your getting cracked cuz your push is being interrupted with straight punches and are telegraphing it. The push is very useful . A push will put you in poke punch range which causes enough stun to create space. No one defensive tool is enough.

Iuri is very tall for the div, especially against an opp like Lineker. So I was just playing with range, and poking out some stiff jabs. Eventually nailing a pretty mean counter shot to end the fight.
