Simulation Mode for EA UFC 3?

TL;DR I think this would be a great addition to the game. Similar to Undisputed 3, the idea is to drastically increase damage and stamina for all strikes, to create a sense of danger at all times. But I believe it could also be used as a platform for devs to test new ideas or mechanics in live gameplay, to see how the community reacts to it.

This would just be a new option available to players in quick match.

The general idea of a simulation mode would be to drastically increase the damage dealt and stamina cost for all strikes. The idea is make it feel like every single strike matters, and create a sense of danger at all times.

So a single clean punch from Ngannou and you’re garunteed to get rocked. If you run right into a flush haymaker, it’s a garunteed KO every time. Yet at the same time, every strike he misses has a major drain on his stamina, as does every strike you land.

Basically no matter what fighter you’re using, you have to respect every strike. Obviously guys like Edgar won’t be as threatening as Ngannou, but you’d still have to respect every strike. Ngannou becomes a 1 punch KO artist, whereas Edgar will still hurt you if you eat a flush haymaker or headkick.

It would really change the way people play, and I think we’d see people be far more tentative about throwing relentless combos. It would definitely change the meta, high level striking would look way more disciplined and measured.

Right now as it is, you basically have to use everyone as a volume striker. I mean even with Ngannou having 100 power, there’s no major sense of danger when playing against him cause you know you can get away with eating a few clean punches. And that may be a good thing for gameplay balance, but a lot of people would still enjoy the F outta sim mode.

The best thing about Sim Mode, is it’s just a setting in quick match. People don’t have to play it if they don’t want to. So it could be used as a platform to test new ideas, just to see how players react to it, and how it works in live gameplay. Unsure how a new idea or mechanic would work in-game? Add it to simulation mode and see how it goes. If everyone hates it, you can scratch it off the list of ideas. If everyone loves it, even better.

But you can’t go wrong with a simulation mode - not only is it fun, but it’s a perfect place to test out new ideas.
