Identifying Prospects for Next Game

Obviously you never really know, but if we had to take our beat educated guess at guys that probably don't deserve to be in yet, but we'll regretnot having if we don't identify them early enough, who would they be?

If we learned anything from last year, it takes time build a roster. So the earlier we can identify fighters that will be important a year from now the better.

I'll go first.

The team should start working on Deron Winn.

In a perfect world, we get everybody but we all know that we wont. Based on my experience, here are the things to consider when trying to predict who will be added the game:

- The roster usually locks 4-6 mos or so before release. Assuming that the game releases the same time as UFC 3, that means that the roster will likely lock towards the end of the summer. A fighter has to be relevant NOW to have a shot. If not, they are likely going to be DLC.

- How well known are they to most UFC fans? Is a prospect an Ultimate Fighter winner or received a lot of attention early on in their career. How many main cards has the fighter been on? How many main events?

- For prospects, it takes 3-4 wins based on this game's history. Usman was 3-0 at roster lock. Colby was 4-1. Brandon Moreno was 3-1. Tom Breese was 3-1. Leon Edwards was 6-2.

- The division matters too. If the choice is between a WW prospect and a Womens strawweight prospect and WW already has 40 fighters in it...the strawweight will likely get added first.

My money is a guy like Winn or any fighter with less than 3 UFC wins will be DLC at best unless they blow out the roster.

Who was that young dude that with the street fighter name?

Fought in FW or LW and his debut was the main event.

Shruyken or something.

Definitely want him added!
