Interesting Little Find

So I was browsing Steam the other day and came across this game called "Taekwondo Grand Prix". I decided to check it out and it's actually pretty interesting. Feels like a mix up of MK, UFC, and that one game a while back that started with an "a". This game is super shallow but it's pretty fun and there's some chess matches that take place with the point system and whatnot. Just thought those who are interested in that kind of thing might like to know.

Here is some gameplay from it if you don't feel like looking it up. I know the "pros" will hate it, but maybe my fellow casuals will enjoy it.

Right!? I downloaded it and have been playing it and it's def a game that takes practice. Apparently they had actual taekwondo specialists there for mocap. It reminds me a lot of MK in that you can whiff punish and whatnot and you can mix up. I feel like this is what it feels like to fight Ngannou. You're so on edge because one touch will mean a point for the other guy. I've been getting starched but it is interesting.

I don’t know why there aren’t any kickboxing games, or MMA games from other organizations like Bellator or ONEfc. You know there’s a stoopid market for it, no clue why it’s being neglected.

Imagine brawling with those random asian dudes in a ONEfc game, like that guy who beat Eddie Alvarez. Would be so sick, especially if THQ picked it up.

There really isn't. The UFC brand itself is more recognized and known than the actual sport of MMA. You're probably in the top 1% of the fan base in terms of dedication and investment yet you couldn't name the "random Asian dude" who beat Alvarez.

This.

EA has been the biggest sports game developer in the world. It created a game with fighters from 2 of the biggest MMA companies in the world at the time and the pound for pound greatest MMA fighter at the time.....and that game still couldnt overcome the UFC's name power.

Now its even worse. Other than DJ, there isnt a single top 10 p4p fighter outside of the UFC.

I'm pretty stupid. And I would buy it.

I think he's correct. Just gotta find that cheat code that unlocks all the fighters that have left the UFC and gone to Bellator.
