Any light to be shed on as to why this feature was removed exactly?
It was an incredibly useful feature and went a long way towards helping the variety of fighter faces that you would come across.

Seeing as CAF's are such a huge focus this time around, it kinda baffles me a little that the feature isn't anywhere to be seen.

Am I missing something or?

EA has been pulling support for it from games for a while. I miss it too, but I figure it was more an EA mothership decision to not keep it around than a UFC team decision. Very sad to see it go.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info, UFC is the only EA Sports game I play so I didn't realise it was being removed from their services as a whole.

That's a bummer.

I'll miss it, was fun whilst it lasted though.

I hope they do something like what WWE 2K games do, they have a website where they can upload images so you can just paste them on your CAFs so you can have more accurate fighters. It's pretty neat actually.

That's not a bad idea actually. Websites are usually fairly cheap to run as well so I doubt it would be a huge business expense. Good thought.
