Career mode strategy

Curious to what everyone’s approach to career mode is or will be. Using my 10 hours to pretty much just mess around in the mode and get a feel for it. Likely missed a few things due to the trial time leaving me feeling pressed for time 🤦*♂️ lol

I would just like to know how long the longevity meter is going to last.

Re: Career mode strategy

I’m pretty great at this series so when it comes to the AI I set certain rules.

All of this is on legendary

1) I can’t cheese stat building .This means beefing up the best stats from the start (chin, power, speed, stamina, etc) I also don’t try min max strategies

You never see guys in MMA who are insanely powerful with unlimited gas tanks.

2) I focus way more on game planning than stat building. A lot of guys just kind of go into a fight and game plan on the spot “oh this guys a wrestler so I won’t let him take me down “ I like to figure out their best moves and styles , and with a stat disadvantage figure out how to beat them. Building a camp around the stylr

3) I don’t do meta stuff. That means meta combos, or strikes the AI tends to always fall for. I also don’t “bait”, which is when you walk in and out of range triggering the AI to whiff.

How do you update clinch transitions? I never managed even by spamming the one transition available.

Re: Career mode strategy

I used a grappler but ended up evolving to a striker right away as I found out you couldn't really cheese the ground game anymore (which is good, but... bad ).

What is your stance on overtraining? I had a lot of spare time as scouting an opponent is pointless when you're facing 1/2* fighters in WFA, and I kept sparring. Only once did I get a message my stats were declining or something. I couldn't read it as it popped up just before I pressed a button (which is what happens if you're pressed for time). If your stats regularly decline it still seems like a good deal to me. Your move stats will never decline and you can level up a lot of moves before you hit the UFC.

It sucks that they removed TUF from the game. That was always my favorite road to the UFC, especially in UFC2. If it was implemented like in UFC3, they might as well remove it indeed so I'm not that disappointed.
