For the same reason I said. New animations are something that can be an incentive to buy a new game. They are things you can mention on the back of a box or in a trailer for a new game.

They arent going to add new animations for a game where 99% of the people who will buy the game have already purchased it.

If it's going to be 3 years between games I expect a rebuild in a better engine, or at least some total reworks of core systems. 4 just felt terrible to play. Honestly haven't enjoyed an EA UFC game since 2, and I'm not saying that to be a prick. I had a lot of respect for GPD in particular.

Rebuilding is a strong word. It would mess things up worse if you think about it. UFC 3 revamped the striking, UFC 4 revamped the clinch, takedowns,GnP. I highly doubt they can revamp the whole game for UFC 5 and if they did , it would result in a new "UFC 1" where the game is completely brand new , but shallow. UFC 3 was the beginning of the franchise for me. UFC 1 & 2 were the stepping stones for 3 , as it moved for an arcadey game to a simulation game.

Re: UFC5 FY23 Q4 ?

You are probably right, but I just get a feeling that some of the core issues that I have go all the way back to the engine itself. Seem to dislike the feel of all games built using said engine.

It feels rubbery, clunky and oddly paced with animations that flick between sped up and slowed down so it doesn't feel real, especially when character models magically snap to positions. No real impact or damage. That said, if I had the same game but with full CAF customisation and a good replay system I'd be happy with it. If I got no CAF or replays but more realistic gameplay with more positions and options I'd be happy. Currently im feeling this unhappy medium with severely limited CAF, oddly missing gameplay and a bunch of F2P cosmetics that ruin what little realism remains for me. The online meta is trash, don't need to go into detail on that.

Some positives to balance it out: roster is excellent, movement feels great, still feels epic when you land the most beautiful counters for the KO
