How important would u say blocking is in this game?

As I've said before I'm new to this game (kind of). Just wanting tips, thanks guys/girls.

Pretty dang important. One good shot to the face or the body and you can go into a health event state where you can't block and are open to be finished. If you played any of the UFC Undisputed games, I would say its much more important in this game than it was in those. Learning to time so you can parry a punch also helps, as that will help you slip in some offense.

if you dont block/parry/slip, you will get destroyed, especially against actual UFC guys

You should be blocking or looking to parry whenever you're engaging. Not doing so will mean "night, night".

If I am really close and trying to back up or circle out of range, I will block, if I am outside and moving around more I will try to parry/dodge/sway more.

Blocking,parrying and swaying are all SUPER important. If you don't do them well you will suffer the consequences plain and simple. I'm still working on getting the timing right for parries and sways myself. Dodging is also key.

Against CPU blocking is important, parrrying is good but not as important. Against real people blocking is important and parrying is the difference between lots of even fights and turning people to paste with counters.

Thanks guys. definitely a part of the game that's more slow coming for me. but like all things with this game practice makes perfect. Just finished a guy off for the first time today via submission and it felt great! Loving this game.
