It is very effective, but you are right. A good player can cut off the octagon.

It's only effective if you allow it to be by chasing them and not properly cutting off the cage and closing distance.

It's crazy what people do when they're getting picked apart. Guys using Lawler start to clinch, same thing happened to me.

He did it from the start after 30 seconds. And ya all he did was follow me and if I let myself get against the cage I'd just do a quick side step and keep the circle going while he got frustrated lol. Was playing one guy who would mostly spam body jabs so I'd keep away and side step etc. He's on his mic laughing saying I'm a puss and can't fight and just going to lose, while I'm picking my shots, landing takedowns. He's yelling and cursing. I win the decision. Laughed my *** off

What is considered running to you guys? If you keep range and engage with smarts i think thats smart real fighting...

Running to me is the guys who dash backwards constantly. That is about it. That dash though makes your strikes miss, and when they can do it all the time it is just ridiculous looking.

Re: Footwork/movement = running?

Running is a valid game plan (and I don't mean smart movement) because it frusturates your opponent and may cause them to be reckless as someone mentioned. Moving in and out of the pocket is an entire different topic lol that's stuff you learn on day 1 of striking. "Get in, get off, get out." (That was originally a boxing phrase but now in modern time it's more of a sexual phrase)

Yeah I'm all for running to frusturate someone, but the back dash is pretty pathetic in this game. I'd prefer no backdash compared to the one we have now.
