TBH I think Twitch is the reason we don't see this option in many games.
Well we found out the answer. The fight ended up streaming on twitch.tv and devolved into a he-said/she-said scandal. Mods had to get involved. If we instead had Spectator Mode, none of that would have happened.

I think spectator mode would lead to something else I would enjoy - Online Fight Cards.

It would be a niche crowd to be sure, but imagine an 8 fight card with 16 people in game chatting.

Not sure it's a realistic idea due to the way online gaming is done on UFC (believe it's peer to peer not server based) but definitely a cool one.

A fight card would be awesome. I think it would be specially good for quick bouts, if they make KO mode online this could be a big hit. For regular matches, waiting in line for 2 or 3 full fights to finish might be too much. I'd like it combined with an option for single round fights.
