Why am I fighting people in Division 1 and 2

Last night I had some insane battles. I am currently in Division 6, and for the most part, its not bad. Some good guys and some terrible ones too. So, I played a few matches last night where my OP's were just awful. It became a trend after playing 3 matches in a row where I completely dominated in stand up. I'm a ground fighter, with decent stand up, so I knew something was off when I was able to destroy these people with low tier fighters. When I checked their stats, I was shocked to see that two of the fighters where in Division 1, and one was in division 2. I immediately send them messages apologizing for the match making. We had a good laugh. One guy was like, "If this is the comp I can expect, I'm selling the game." lol... I reassured him that he won't be facing that level of comp until later.. Has anyone else faced people in the lower division? It doesn't make sense for someone in the upper division to be playing people at the lower division, especially when there was 12k people online last night on ps4.

I think the biggest gap I've seen is

* Ranked: I'm division 6 they're division 4; for a belt

* UT: I'm division 5 and they're division 3; for a belt

Never been division 6 vs division 1 or 2...not good to hear though

Ironically, last night I had the opposite problem....I faced three guys in a row with OVR 88; 93; and 100 (!!) .... KO'd the 88, lost decision to the 93, and got KO'd in last minute of 5th round against the 100 (ARGHHHHHHH)

All in WBW against my OVR 77

Sucks to be fighting lower skilled opponents but I seem to be having the opposite issue , waiting minutes upon mins for a fight and then just get the error message.

If i had to choose between fighting low divisions or not fighting at all I'd take at least getting into matches

What system are you on? I'm on PS4, and I don't have a problem finding a match. maybe its a regional issue?

Yeah I'm PS4 too , Ireland based. What's your average wait time and most used divisions ?

The longest I've waited for a match was maybe 40 seconds. I've only had the error message twice since playing. Most used division is 6, as I haven't been relegated in any division since playing. You think it has something to do with you being in Ireland? I'm in the States...

not sure but damn i am pretty darn jealous of 40 second wait times.
My NAT type is 2 , I'll actually look into my router settings to make it type 1 cause I've heard it's "better"
