Suggestion:Use the Right Stick for Head Movement instead of holding L2+Left Stick

IT feels as if the right stick is just not really utilized to it's full potential. The 360° head movement mechanic is awsome, but not when you are a sitting duck, where you hold L2 and you move your head with the movement Left Stick.

Currently The Right Stick is pretty much used to quick clinch or Over Under Clinch.

Do you guys think it would be much better if the Right Stick,on it's own, without pressing anything else, would be an ideal button for head movement in order to be combined with actual movement from the left stick?

Head Movement is not an easy thing to do and the way holding L2 currently works it makes it easy, but also unrealistic, since you have to stop moving in order to use head movement.

So this is my suggestion.Instead of having the right stick for clinching. Have it for Head Movement.Have at least a bit less of 360 head movement while moving around, but when you are not moving, you can bend even further with the 360 head movement.

When you want to initiate a takedown you still hold L2 then right stick accordingly or L2+L1 then right stick accordingly for heavy takedowns, you still block takedowns by holding R2+down on the right analog stick etc.None of that changes.Once you are on the ground or clinched, the right stick works as it does now.

The suggestion between those 2 lines can be ignored

Perhaps Clinching, should be initiated by having to hold 2 buttons together, like the 2 punch buttons or the 1 punch button,1 kick button. Kind of like those grappling moves that the Taken games have or other arcade fighting games, but in this game, those buttons pressed together, initiate a clinch, which i believe would significantly reduce clinch spam and it would make Thai Clinch, even harder having to hold L1 + Triangle+ Circle (on ps4) .

SO yeah,do you think that the Right Stick used for head Movement could be implemented in this game or at least a future UFC game?Would you want something like that implemented in an MMA Game or do you think it belongs only in a boxxing game?

Edit:One more minor suggestion, that i don't believe is already part of the game, but could the devs implement a head movement fighter rating? You know that affects how effective head movement is on every fighter.(Like anderson silva would be able to moves his head faster or further than an average fighter etc.)

That would be kind of hard to manage from a controller control perspective. I'm right handed. If I wanted to use head movement and strike, I would have to take my left hand off of the left stick and move it to the right stick to move my head.

    Seems difficult.

This was the first about i was thinking, BUT there one point that make this suggestion bad:
You r holding Sway > (w/o releasing sway) start your strikes (from sway position, which allow you to evade incoming strike).
With sway on RS you need to release Rs and return to neutral state for inputing the strike.

BUT again in UFC 2 sway has very important issue - when striking from Sway your fighter return to neutral state and only then begin the strike - this is the ISSUE and mut to be fixed by devs - to make Sways more effective and usable.

Well as i said, head movement shouldn't be an easy thing, that's why you don't see many fighters utilize it in real-life at the extent that every fighter does in this game.

Haven't you tried playing an FPS shooter? You utilize both left and right stick or any other shooter out there.

Being left-handed,right-handed shouldn't be an issue, there are always controller options to reverse stuff like that in-game or i believe they do sell right handed controllers, like they sell mouse on PC right?

I mean of course the devs would have to find a way to implement sways and change up striking to fit this mechanic, but all in all it would make head movement and stand up a lot more fluid and would change things up a bit making it more intresting.

It would be hard to implement, which is why they might have to consider such an implementation for a future game and not the current one.

Also,it's not really that easy to hold the movement button+the head movement button + striking,so i mean,it would pretty much work thet same way it does now, you'd have to sort of let it go in order to strike.

It would certainly change the fact that everyone that wants to be aggresive and push forward, has to keep his head block button pressed at all times, before he can strike.

It would be intresting to see Aggresive+Head movement=close the distance properly and strike.

In order for someone to Move+Head Move+ strike, they would have to use their index finger to press the attack buttons, which would make it harder for them to block.

EDIT:Have you played EA UFC 1?The way head movement worked there, was you had to tap the L2+direction button and your player would bend for a short amount of time then recover to his normal position.

I don't see why this could not be implemented in the mechanic i am suggesting.

People could simply tap the right stick in a direction and strike normally or they could also normally have a 360 movement by holding the right stick instead of taping it.

The only way to bring Sway on RS and also give us the ability to counbter strike FROM Sway position - is by bringing a delay for returning to initila neutral state. The delay will make sway unresponsible.

Now with Sway on L2+LS devs can fix it even by patch:
            1) Shorter Dead zone for LS input
            2) Allow to counter strike from sway position (as we pressed) w/o auto return to initial neutral position and only then strike (as it is working for now).
            3) Fix the bug with occasional Dodge after quick sway input:

Interesting idea, unfortunately it probably wouldn't play out too well.

Keeping your right thumb on the right stick would make counterstrike tough.

I really want some simplified controls but i dont think this would work out better. You would have to move your thumb to do head movements and wouldn't be able to quickly strike anymore. You loose one of the benefits of the sway.
